Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Short on examples, laden with biases and conspiracy theories and lacking in theoretical robustness.
Can you just come clean and admit that you base most of your argument on the writings of Karl Marx. In short, if we were to take your arguments to their logical conclusion and extreme we would bankrupt that state?
Socialism is inefficient and breeds a class of oligarchs that capture each industry for their own ends including perpetuating their stay in political power.
It’s theory is based on the labour hours put into production and states that the factors of production are owned by the people in the state. Shortcomings of that argument. Collective ownership of the factors of production can diminish individual incentives for innovation, productivity, and hard work.
Without the possibility of personal gain and private ownership, individuals lack the motivation to take risks, invest in new technologies, or improve production methods in the long term, ultimately stifling economic growth and progress. In short, we all become slaves.
Recommendation, read your history books to study why and how socialism doesn’t work.

"With the presenter going on holidays" Is Joe.ie particularly referring to Ryan or Ken?
I have emailed Kevin Bakhurst to provide my feedback on Ryan Tubridys potential return to our national broadcaster. It was Probably a waste of time but made me feel so much better. 🤗.
What did you say?
That I’m not in favour 😁. Read somewhere that he said opinion was mixed. Added my tuppenceworth.
https://about.rte.ie/contact/contact-details/
The optics of Bakhurst going on holiday 3 weeks into his tenure is absolutely fooking appalling.
I'm sorry, is this all a big joke to them!? Gross mismanagement, fraud and criminal use of taxpayer funds.
Guess they are convinced it will die now along with the Dail being in recess. That's my read. And Tubs will be reinstated some stage in the Autumn.
Just no to all of that. We can't let this go and become another buried crisis.
Would be good to have a template that we could email him with.
Your DG is cracked.
Really.
Faulty on installation.
Happens. How much?
€3 million please.
Batter account.
Barter?
Sound out.
Really?
Yeah
0% VAT for the popcorn budget.
Noice.
I get the feeling that they need that wage inflation at the top to justify the pay scales down the ladder, similar to ministerial salaries setting the top limit for the public body they are responsible for.
It was completely artificial demand within the Irish market, no other foreign or domestic broadcaster would pay as much.
Highest price I can see for that hotel is
From
€689 per night, unless you're from Irelands most corrupt media organisation, RTE - If that's the case, prices start at €1400 per night...ah sure fcuk it, lets go with €1700 per night
Hola RTE, mis amigos - Bienvenidos
It was over charged and the CREAM was pocketed?
PURE MULE™
The silly receptionist accidently added a zero to the bill but she was good enough to refund the difference to her credit card
Minibar is extra.
€22k
M'kay
okay
Okay?
My Gaud?
Yeah?
Mm-kay?
Kisses?
I can't imagine what it will be like for the Journalists who are working in RTE, who have to get up to do their job, knowing that any 'corruption' news item they might work on will pale in comparison to what's going on in their workplace.
I think the headline of this article sums up my opinion.
Whether or not that is some veiled attempt at criticising the logic behind capitalism, when we look at the price mechanism in the west, the losers get stronger and supply and demand increases in the long term.
On a purely results basis we can see nationalisation, as in the case of RTE doesn’t work. Perpetual growth is possible in capitalism. You might argue that the same is possible for socialism if applied outside of its national borders and it exports its goods. History has proven that is not the case.
The nub of the issue is not just this over-payments issue, it is the way in which Broadcasting has been run in this country.
Back in 2009, Boxer cited "challenges in successfully concluding a contract with RTÉ Networks Limited, to the satisfaction of both parties, for the provision of transmission services." as the reason for its pull out of Irish DTT.
The network then had sole monopoly on the Irish broadcasting spectrum, so what did it do, it looks like it ran its own fiefdom!
I am disgusted and repulsed by the revelations at RTE, but I am not surprised, I believe this was a long time coming.
It controlled the airwaves, it was the mouthpiece for the establishment and anything that challenged it was put down.
We had darker days when MMDS was setup and it survived for over 20 years, there is no good reason why a commercial DTT service could not have been successful.
Keeping it in the family, none of this dirty outsiders coming in telling us how it should be run
All the promises and high ideas of what saorview would do and here we are over a decade later and no better off than analogue except for the HD for RTE
I understand Ryan but no.
No?
Its dead on balls accurate wrong and I'll tell yeh why?
Really? Go on.
Ryan?
Yeah.
Its not all a boat yeh. Jaha understand?
I do.
You don't Ryan.
Robert on my show? Dissing me?
Merciful hour.
Bertie AHern everyone.
Crowd applauses.
Thank You tee-shock.
I think all of this is just absolutely disgusting to be honest I mean it's taxpayers money down the drain. Tjey are where Basically saying " oh don't worry about the expenses rte will pay for it " taking huge advantages and not even bothering to put they hands into their own pockets the same ones that can well afford new cars ,houses ,holidays etc
This is all a distraction to the METRO and the Hospital.
This is only millions NOT billions.
Pennies.
From the RTE website, their Truth Matters page Jon Williams' (MD RTE News) byline, under the headline
Trust in journalism demands not just the truth but real transparency
Systemically, RTE ain't demonstrating real transparency, so how can they expect anyone to trust them? Kevin Bakhurst, your one opportunity awaits.
Looks like RTE has a problem.
It may not be a seasonal thing with people being on holiday. This looks like a reaction to the Tubridy scandal.
Regards...jmcc
Some of the antics of high up Rte personnel when they were continually crying to the government would make you sick.
"We're broke, please give us some money"
Whilst they were jetting off to CL finals, 26k for 2 nights and rugby World cup's in Japan.
People should be getting sacked over these, but not a head will roll.
This is huge news, non payment can lead to jail time. Nearly a third of people due to make payment for the licence prepared to go to jail, it's not like deciding to stop subscribing to Sky Sports.
Yes. How many did they say were on over 100k? Would like to know those roles but would guess they are massively overpaid too.
Person does not renew license. Tv inspector calls to see if you’ve a tv. Answer is have you got anything that allows you to enter a persons home as you’re not getting in without something. What happens now?
Given that RTE top management were 100% involved - if not come up with the idea- in falsifying invoices , paying out on them in the ‘most tourism route’ possible over a number of years, for work - RT to do promotions forRenault at €25,000 a shot and trying apparently trying to hide same from the public , I would be all significant expenditure - especially for overseas trips and suchlike. I know because I have been there in other setups . You suffer when you highlight such happenings to the appropriate individuals /authorities.
I would expect that whatever INDEPENDANT company the Gov is using is going to be sent in to ‘examine ‘ RTE’s books -going back over a number of years - will pick a sample of such expenditures and examine them in sufficient detail. It’s task is being made all the easier because if irregularities/EXCESSIVE expenditure is found, the individuals responsible are gone
I'll be shot for this but anyway.
I don't think RT's salary demands weren't all that outrageous. Here's why I think that.
Kielty is getting €250k for the LLS. Nobody is jumping up and down saying he's getting too much for the gig. Seems to be the going rate. RT probably got similar money for doing the LLS. But people forget that RT had a second job, his radio show. Several of the top radio presenters are on over €200k for their radio shows. So, it looks like Tubs was paid the going rate. Many won't agree but I don't think I'm too far out.
