Is there a gasket or seal for the end plate of the CAV pump on the 135s?
removes the end plate 9min into the video
Great stuff thanks.
That old aussie, Lance is well worth a sub, what he doesn't know about 100 series MF tractors isn't worth knowing. Thanks Z.
Got the Kramer back today.
8800 of a repair bill
there goes any chance of a profit this year!
Jaysus she'd want to stay quiet for at least 10 years now.
Anyone ever import a tractor from Europe? Is it worth it?
I am just browsing on agri affaires and they list ex vat price. Do I pay vat if I buy? Not registered.
The reason I ask is I see a donedealer importing tractors and selling them for fairly reasonable prices in this market. They are registered as a business now.
Yes, but I don’t know if you pay it here or to the seller, my guess is the seller and it will probably be lower than the 23% here.
Within the EU you'd pay it here I thought. It would come in at whatever price is agreed and then you pay the VAT once it lands in Ireland
You can pay either bit most other countries have a lower VAT rate than 23% so might be better paying them
Thanks. Just had a look at new hollands, don't see any value in buying abroad. Prices look steep for them still.
Well if you see something you like you should ask for their best export price. Usually lower than the advertised price.
Anyone ever use the online tractor repair manuals? You can get an online version and a paper version from what i can see and wondering which is the better of the two. Considering doing up a 135vwe have at home that is rough as guts at the minute.
Printing off the pages as you need them from the online one and just reprint them when they get covered in oil would be the main advantage I'd say
Would taking on a 135 rough as be manageable for a first time project. I have two friends i can bounce questions off of during it whenever i hit a stumbling block. I suppose the main thing to do would be record yourself dissassembling bits and bobs as you go along so you have something else to reference at tbe reassembly stage.
Don't think you can get much simpler than a 135 to start with.
plenty parts available for the 135s too. should manage with basic enough set of tools, don't need many large sockets or spanners although they may be imperial sizes
Have a nice bit of gear here from the day job pipe/mechanical fitting but only up to 9/16 on imperial. This tractor isnt even running now and i wouldnt have a notion of electrics whether its automotive or domestic electrics. I suppose theres no harm in asking about doing it up and i think tbe auld fellas trying to entice me someway back into farming too and ive kind of realisex i wouldnt mind going farming myself in a few years- ive plenty of the world left to see yet still.
I regards parts would it be a case of facing into it of a saturday morning and heafing to the lime of farm industrial and they more than likely have the part in stock?
Qtp based in mullingar would be the first start.
Some people may whinge about the quality or price their nowadays but they were about when no one else was.
They sell to loads of shops
John Conaty in Kells has a online shop and would have most parts in stock both new and second hand. He is a funny fish to deal with if you're not used to him but I've always got on well with him.
There’s only 1 secret to a good relationship with John, don’t waste his time!
As you say he can be a funny fish at first but when he gets to know you it’s completely different and not a sounder man could you meet.
Don’t ring with a load of questions and pricing, he’ll just hang up on you. Travel there and deal face to face. If nothing else you’ll understand why it’s a waste of time ringing him when you see how many customers and how many parts he’s going through, there’s always a queue.
Know what you want, wait your turn, don’t make small talk and don’t argue about the price. Do that the first 2 or 3 times you have to get stuff there and he’ll know you by then and will never see you stuck after that.
Once he knows you and trusts you, if you need something and he’s busy he’ll tell you to go on down the yard and get it yourself rather than leave you waiting.
Stupid question. I’ve 2,500 metres of drains. Measured on Google earth. The hedge cutter guy won’t be here until after the harvest. Just wondering if anyone here uses a mowing bar to cut under the fence over the drains? I was thinking of getting an old topper and reversing in over the whole length but it might be a whore of a job. I’ll be spraying them anyway. All briars and dirt. Thanks.
I wonder if something like this would be a good job for your own use. There seems to be plenty of secondhand examples on Donedeal a lot of the time…… https://www.donedeal.ie/toppers-for-sale/agrimaster-verge-mower-topper-in-stock-tams-grant/27547770
Anyone else heard a rumour that a very new, very prominent Case dealership in the southeast is pulling down the shutters? Mad to imagine it happening seeing the money spent to get it up and running day one if uts true.
I thought it was just the farmhand equipment they were losing?
I don't know Morris, I just heard a rumour yesterday
Ya would think that they'd stay going with Case at least, don't think they sold many Krone harvesters, that wouldn't go down well with farmhand.
Cooney Furlong?
CF took the farmhand business out from under a long established dealer in north Wexford who was selling farmhand since they started in the 80s but they never sold the big machines either. Just mowers, rakes, sprayers, fert spreaders etc
I would reckon CF is after over promising and under delivering on the big line machinery
the lads on the tillage side of the business don’t like the case tractors either but they have to use them seeing as they have the dealership
