Russia's lower house of parliament has passed a new law banning gender reassignment surgery, in the latest attack on LGBT rights in the country.
The State Duma approved the bill, which will also ban people changing their genders on state documents, on Friday.
It now needs approval from the upper house and President Vladimir Putin, moves normally seen as formalities.
Speaker of the Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, said the bill would "protect our citizens and our children".
In a telegram post on Friday, Mr Volodin also called gender-affirming surgery a "path to the degeneration of the nation".
"We are the only European country that opposes all that is happening in the States, in Europe and does everything to save families and traditional values," he said during the debate on Friday. "And we need to understand that there won't be any future if we don't adopt the law, if we don't ban gender change."
Fresh amendments added to the bill on Friday during its final reading included banning individuals who have undergone gender changes from adopting children, and annulling marriages where one party had undergone gender reassignment.
According to the Russian interior ministry, 2,990 people legally changed gender between 2016 and 2022. The country has a population of 146 million.
The latest attack comes just a day after Russia's internal security service, the FSB, announced that it had arrested a transgender rights activist on charges of treason for supporting Ukraine.
In footage carried by the state-run RIA Novosti news agency, the man was seen being slammed into a wall by armed officers clad in tactical gear, before being driven away in a van.
The agency alleged he had donated to OVD-info, a human rights monitoring organisation banned in Russian in 2021 under its foreign agents laws.

Carrying out a counteroffensive to reclaim that territory, defeat Russia and minimize Ukraine’s casualties requires resources that Zaluzhny said he’s still lacking. Western officials have said Ukraine has enough to succeed, but Zaluzhny was sharply critical of counterparts who have argued that Kyiv doesn’t need F-16s. Their own militaries would never fight like this, he said in the interview.
When President Volodymyr Zelensky called and offered Zaluzhny the top post in Ukraine’s armed forces, Zaluzhny quickly ditched the idea of retirement.
Among the first things he did was renovate his new office. Zaluzhny had always dreaded visiting previous commanders there. Each time reminded him of the thing he despised most about the Soviet army legacy — “that any commander who took his position was in fact a feudal lord over his subordinates,” he said. It represented exactly what he wanted to change about Ukraine’s military.
After fighting an internal Soviet ideological enemy, he now faces an external one that lauds the very heritage Zaluzhny wanted eradicated. But he still has respect for his adversary’s doctrine. He eagerly read everything Gen. Valery Gerasimov, Russia’s military chief, has ever written, describing it as “very, very interesting” and lamenting that he hasn’t published anything lately.

That's more or less my reading of it, I differ in the details. I'm suspecting it as pulling in low-density/high demand MOSs which have been concentrated in Europe for the last year or so for some odd reason. They need to get pulled back to the US for rest and reset and need a break, and we don't have enough in the regular Army to do the job.

Strange, these bombs / rockets seemed to have a horizontal or angled flight path..?? Drones are always vertical dropped bombs.
These are small commercial drones with a small bomb attached and can fly anywhere.
The drone flew right in with the bomb attached, FPV kamikaze drone.
