I was driving through Cullahill Today and noticed this place I'm fairly sure It was ran by Darina Allen's parents.
I think this is her childhood home.(I think)

You're just stuck with whatever size TV they had too. Bigger won't fit. Smaller looks out of place.
Yeah it was her parents pub at one stage. Was in it a good few times a long long time ago before
the motorway was built.
They describe Cullahill as a village, as far as I can remember all there is, is the pub
and a road passing the pub.
Nice premises that looks as if it has had a few quid spent on it since I was in it last. Not sure
about passing trade though. I'd say the motorway has killed a lot of passing trade. The area
wouldn't really be popular with tourists either. Fine size place for €300,000 all the same.
Price drop on The Addams family home. Still mad money.
I like it but it doesn't suit the location/site. Belongs in a
theme park or in a remote woods :-)
Live out your Addams Family dreams in this Dublin mansion that's had a price drop (msn.com)
I think there's a petrol station also!

This is featured in the IT today. Only deep pockets need apply but what could it be like......
Spooky goings in on the Tower house;
'A room in the 15th-century, five-storey Loop Head peninsula castle has remained sealed since the 1920s and has not been tampered with since an exorcist was found dead the morning after attempting to enter the chamber, she says. What the writer describes as a “malevolent spirit” is believed to reside in the room.
Ann O’Regan, who writes for spookyisles.com, says that even paranormal investigators won’t venture near Carrigaholt Castle. “I’d know a few of the paranormal groups around Ireland and I don’t know any of them that have gone near it. That is the kind of room that is best left alone, to be honest with you. If you want to open it, fine, but wait until I’m at the other end of the country before you do it,” she suggested.'
People are hilarious!
You'd be better off knocking those buildings and starting fresh.(not the castle though)
Honestly, I was browsing expensive houses on daft earlier in the week and thought it looked amazing. It has huge potential.
This one of the nicest houses I’ve seen in a long time. They’ve done a lovely renovation job.

Nicely done alright. Wouldn't like to be sitting in this green chair if there's a shower of rain however 😁
Wow!!! Stunning!!! Attention to detail, furniture and furnishings are unreal.
Someone with really good taste. Nice price too. 3 bed semi's where I am are
going for that money. Good BER rating too considering how old it is.
😂🤣 that made me chuckle. I hadnt noticed it.
Lets hope it was only left there for building history purposes as a reminder of what was the outside wall!
Yeah the decor is done in a way that wont date - everything is done very tasteful and thought out well. Functionally and decor wise it would be a fabulous house to live in.
That Carrigaholt house in Kilrush was nice back in the day.
My children would relish in making shite of that house and destroying the walls
with filthy hands.
If it had a nice big lawn at the back it would be unreal. Boundary fence/wall is very close
to the field at the back. Be nice to buy a piece of the field to extend it for greenhouse
and big lawn and man shed.
Lovely, beautifully finished, well insulated, excellent situation, I'd love it. Only gripe from me would be lack of space around it, but not everyone wants a load of garden so it might be an advantage for some.
It's gorgeous but the white PVC windows and back door are an abomination.
That's the smoking chair, you blow it up the pipe to stop the house stinking of it
Chris de Burgh's house finally sold. Wonder who bought it.
Sale price of Chris de Burgh’s house drops 21% to €9.85m – The Irish Times
Would you buy a house seized by CAB? I won't post the exact address but I found it on Google Street view. They've done a lot to the house since 2009. It's very near the Pylon.
The CSO have released the latest figures of house prices per eircode. Blackrock number one but bottom of the list is Ballyhaunis, Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen area. So here's a few houses in that area which I think are good value but you'd be living in a place with poor services and employment opportunities.
These two would good for 100k more if anywhere else.
Burst pipes and water damage
You wouldn't build this house for 305k
Hey! I live 25 mins from the closest place you listed from me. Ballyhaunis just for reference. But yea I'd say houses in my town and surrounding area's would cost a bit more than those places not much more though.
The one in Kilruane could be good value. I know it needs refurbishment but if it's empty two years( and it probably empty most of it) you can draw the 70k refurbishment grant and the insulation grants. It's probably up over 120 k. Another 50-60 k with thar and you should have a virtually new house
I had an offer in on Jessbrook when it was for sale. There was legalities in the ownership of
the driveway up to the house. Apparently the driveway was part of the equestrian centre and
not part of the house. It was taken off the market until this was sorted. A local bought the house
and the 5 acres of land with it shortly afterwards. That was about 6 years ago and the house is
lying empty since.
I like "some" of the interior. BER rating is poor considering the price.
The Stationmaster's House, Grange Con, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow is for sale on Daft.ie
Interesting did any part of feel that you might become a target if you did purchase it?
Not a bit. The previous owner knew his days were numbered in having any claim to the house.
There was some shifty looking characters roaming about the house the day of the viewing.
On the old N2 heading to Ashbourne from Finglas by any chance? Lots of houses sold there in the last 20 years have gotten high walls, Electric gates with no buzzers and unauthorised big sheds out the back. The ones you can see are permanently vacant with a lot of concrete ornaments in the gardens.
