Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Actually, just to clarify (as I missed that part live), she texting in to say it was wrong that nobody on the executive board knew, but about what; the approval of her redundancy or the Tubridy deal?
Either way the point stands that she was clearly sitting watching and thought she could just text in answers she wanted to give while not allowing the committee to ask questions she clearly doesn't want to answer, particularly after Noel Kelly's emails.
No chance. All emails, texts, etc would be subpoenaed to court. I very much doubt Tubs or NK would want that. And I doubt they'd risk perjury and a jail sentence.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tubridy issues a statement before end of week stating that he’s taking time off work in general to plan and pursue other interests and projects and will not be pursuing his request to rejoin RTÉ at this time.
Leaves door open for all to re-engage at a less challenging time
Imagine Tubs on the witness stand asking the judge if NK could answer questions for him and begging them to ask for the real "from my heart and soul" reason he stepped down from the LLS while thumping the stand and pointing at the people in the gallery?
It would be a very full public gallery
Tubridy gone from 8/1 to 33/1 for Next President🤣🤣🤣
RTE are utter clowns. They made RK and NK look good today
So not based on whoever is hosting it. Pretty much a captive audience
And still in contact with her former colleagues on a daily basis I would think.
Numbers dont lie.
Some key points here:
The Renault deal was for 1 year only
There are no 6 outstanding events to be held
NK said if there was no sponsor after year 1 then there would be no events and therefore no money payable. That is what happened so they should not have sought the money
NK said he was not chasing the 2 €75k payments. RTE say he was on to their legal dept about those monies
If Tubridy returns the €150k this still leaves RTE €80k out of pocket due to the fees they had to pay to get the €150k to him
If he does that it’ll be the mental health card that is pulled to garner sympathy and set up a “brave” return.
So help me GAWD...
The cozy set up in Montrosia is beginning to crumble, where brass necked folk from all areas butt reamed the taxpayer for yonks.
Now is the time to flush the cistern out there and sweep all the liggers and chancers and brass necked management out into the sea.
We have been ridden ragged by these parasites for far too long.
I've worked in at least one place that played RTE Radio 1 during the day. And don't call me Shirley!
So what happens now that our fearless public representatives are off sunning themselves for a month or two?
Sounds like RTE will get a chance to get away with it because he September something else is bound to have made new waves.
Tubs was always more of a company man, less likely to say something bad, Gerry was more of a person who might shoot from the hip so to speak….RTE still trying to tell everyone how great Tubs is….a guy who has admitted no other channel wants yet RTE are paying him stupid money? Why? Who are they keeping him from?
The forensic accountant(s) will be burrowing away.
Better tell Hyundai never to sponsor the LLS as nobody will ever properly pronounce their new 'Hyndi' pronunciation😂
RTE has walked hand in hand with the Like's of fianna fail since the 60s. The party will be over when Sinn Fein comes into office I hope
Dunno about 'hand in hand'... more in 'lockstep', or 'shoulder to shoulder' as the centra dads say
Wouldn't RTÉ have to be available to report on news they too will be on holidays come August.
Anyone who actually believes that politicians are on holiday when the dail is not open just doesn't get it no point in explaining. I thought it was the Worker party that RTE was supposed to be in league with.
Well then you need to explain to RTÉ that news and current affairs doesn't stop because it is silly season.
As for politicians and their aids, I also to attend the PAC today and was told they would be to busy try to contact my local TD could get them to sign me in either, no replies to email no pick up of phone, they are very lackluster when engaging, you'd think everyone is on the phone to go to the Dail everyday of the week. I have 9 to 5, very rarely can I say I am too busy.
And yes in the 1970s and 1980s the stickies where in force in RTÉ.
Bingo thus the drip feeding strategy by RTE.
One big club.
Thanks Shirley 😉
How is it that the new DG was chosen when he was the second choice in the previous selection to the outgoing one? Presumably they would be looking for someone better? Or am I missing something.
The heat will eventually die down and when the next political scandal appears it will be largely forgotten about.
Nah you have that all wrong and missed the clown show - it was two days ago on Tuesday.
According to a lot of independent media reports at the time and to the opinions of alot of RTE staff, there was a very credible candidate that was snubbed. He was the former head of An Post , A guy with serious proven credientials who transformed the profits of An Post...but the RTE board went with a former RTE guy, presumably to keep the status quo and safe themselves from scrutiny. And here we are
I think Alan Kelly, today, requested information on the amount of in house appointments in the last 20 years. RTE is just not open to outside appointments or influence of any kind. That needs to change
