Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I've read all of Ryan's bukes I'll have you know and this was a page turning financial thriller.
My mother went on some team-building weekend with her company to the Delphi Adventure Centre in Galway many years ago. There was another company there, and they enthusiastically introduced themselves as being sales reps for Mars. Of course, there was lots of banter about them having a boot full of delicious samples in their company cars.
One of the sales people from my mother's company happened to be out in the carpark, and something in one of their cars caught is eye. Full of Pedigree Chum sales material. He looked in some of the others, and it was the same. Turns out they were from the Mars pet food division, and didn't have any free chocolate after all.
When Cadbury's were owed by Schweppes, there was a time when they also owned Chivers jam (although it was spun off in 1986, long before Cadbury's themselves were sold to Kraft (now Mondelez)). The former Chivers factory is right behind the Cadbury's factory in Coolock in Dublin. Originally, they formed part of the same campus. I personally recall a friend's brother who worked for Cadbury's saying that some of the workers in the jam factory would claim to work for "Cadbury's", even though they were in a separate facility to the chocolate factory. Petty, but there you go. I got the impression it continued after the two companies split, because it would have been in the 90s that he said this.
That said, I don't think Brian Stanley was probing Kelly on the complicated world of brand ownership. And he certainly wasn't insinuating anything about drug dealing, as another poster has ludicrously suggested above. It was just a case of asking a stupid question because he couldn't think of a good one.
I just said I make 140k which is a decent but not spectacular salary these days. I certainly wouldn’t leave myself open to the levels of abuse one receives on the internet for being a TV or radio presenter for what someone suggested should be a max salary or 100k. My eldest nephew is 25 and he already makes that.
The oddball remarks is more from the odd time I visit Twitter. Like someone this afternoon is after posting a photo of the house of that Doireann lady. That’s frightening stuff. It’s not normal.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with actual journalists' opinions, like Fintan O'Toole's rather than PJ's. But you do you. He rang me once, he's a great lad 😂😂😂😂
Fintan O’Toole: In the end, Ryan Tubridy resorted to the Father Ted defence – The Irish Times
Yes,sad losers, but NOT weird OK! There are no weidos on here!
The "comprehensive account" that answered every question with "RTE instructed us to do it".
Sure buddy, real comprehensive alright.
Once again all you have done is repeat that "there is nothing to see here", when anybody with their eyes open can see that the whole thing was a pack of lies.
If you stayed honest and avoided any nefarious stuff and didn’t get greedy and gouge the taxpayer, a tv or radio presenter could be a good career.
If you want to act the toss and try to get into the ‘gravy’ then you better be able to justify yourself, which wouldn’t.be too easy.
Poor Huw….. uh mmm
The point of the question was to try to find out just how exactly he got to the point of being able to threaten RTÉ as an agent. Where did that power come from? He was only a guy in sales and marketing selling chocolate for Cadbury’s and then somehow mysteriously switched to being an agent for entertainers. It is a bit bizarre.
This 10 min slot was right into their barrow as you can repeat what you said to others questioning you - ideal strategy for time wasting. A much better strategy for the committee members would be for it to agree a set of questions and select which committee member will follow up on each question. And through the chair other members can come in at appropriate times. The current arrangement is very ad hoc equivalent
Back in my Union negotiation days we used to be told that a verbal agreement wasn't worth the paper it was written on. I suppose nowadays he might have recorded the interview and the agreement, but even so, I doubt it would have any legal force.
Obviously RTE are not going to consign him to the workhouse, but I doubt they are going to see him as an advertising magnet after all this, and he'll probably be stood down from the morning show with moderate compensation in exchange for not getting the 'Renault' money back..
If you don’t have a personal dislike for him then some of your posts about him seem way OTT for someone who does not have a personal dislike for him.
to answer your question on persons asking about your movements at this event or that event? Is that weird? I wouldn’t necessarily go so far to say weird. Little disconcerting, yes
The lack of a credible transition in show business from NK compounds that.
To be fair, he's not even in the Top 3 biggest trolls on this thread.
Across every thread , flip flops on what hes says but claims he adds "nuance and context".
I personally think it's far more an RTE issue than a RT issue.
So do I. Makes us two trolls!!!
Well there are the very odd ones who might be, but ya know what I mean
The idea that anyone who doesn’t agree that Tubridy is a money-obsessed psychopath and that RTÉ is an enormously incompetent and indeed criminal organisation is somehow a troll is nonsense.
Are you sure RT broke his contract for the LLS? I thought he had come to an agreement to leave the LLS and RTE were ok with that. In other words, not quite a breach of contract but a mutual cancelling of the LLS contract.
Sounds like you’re seeing some “dishonesty” with me; hope I’m not a scumbag, so..
I have absolutely no influence on who thanks or replies to my posts. Sorry, but that’s just the way it is. There’s no conspiracy theory. The idea that NKM, RTÉ, FG, The Illuminati run organised groups of accounts here is real tinfoil hat stuff. It’s an ancient old message board which was popular and relevant about 15 years ago.
I thought I was
(now that was another attempt at humour )
The first part is your opinion - I can only tell you the truth from my perspective. If I genuinely did dislike him, trust me there's lots of stuff I could say or hint at that I know about the man but haven't said on boards.
The second part - thank you for acknowledging same. We differ on the verbiage, but are both it seems broadly on the same page on it.
BTW, please don't take my comment that you're "not even in the Top 3 trolls on this thread" as a sign that I view you as a troll. It was a play on words and a little joke of sorts to highlight the point. For the record, I don't see you as a troll - that I reserve for a few special posters. I do think your defence of Tubridy is a little OTT (in the same way no doubt you see my criticism of him as such), and I do wonder about some of the flip-flopping, but I don't think you're outright trolling.
If it's so irrelevant why half you posted 2,500 posts in 2 and a half years?
Because I enjoy it despite it being hugely irrelevant and silly.
His contract was for both, he broke it by retiring from the late late but in one meeting they said they had already given him a verbal they would renew for radio only
Verbal contract was mentioned and it would be legally binding
Apart from reading the contract that’s all I know
Exactly the same on Radio and TLLS threads too. Just a coincidence of course.
Fair enough points. Regarding flip-flopping. People can change view, dampen down, evaluate, reassess. This affair is far from black and white.
I have been very balanced throughout. I have criticised RT a fair bit, as well as made a very valid point that it’s a bit OTT as regards “outrage.”
biggest issue with the thread is a lack of posters compromising and being diplomatic and accepting any kind of middle-ground.
and without doubt the attacking is way more against those who aren’t gung-ho on slating RT
btw, I believe you when you say it’s not a personal thing with RT. You are an honest poster. And strike me as a person with integrity.
The Tripartite Agreement 🤣
Again, there's more than enough blame to go around here. RTE an RT/NK both acted wrongly at best.
Some of the lines from NK yesterday were totally unbelievable, as were some of the lines from RTE on a few occasions.
My own personal 'want' for RT is that he never receives another penny of state money again. If he really is that talented it shouldn't bother him. BBC et al will come knocking and if you really are that big a fan you'd have plenty opportunity to catch him on that platform.
RTs moral high ground has been eroded to the point that he cannot be taken seriously.
