If you want to be logical about it, it seems pretty illogical to assume that the ratings are all down to the presenter and not the station and programme itself.
Have the number for his radio show dropped with him off it?
my parents and everyone I know around that age turn on rte 1 in morning and it doesn’t get turned off….now those are ratings you are talking about
I think Bakhurst might be waiting to see the next JNLR figures and how Callan does before making a decision one way or another. If Callan's figures are ballpark Tubridy's, its game set and match with Tubridy shown the door.
Lets hope Callan isn't criticised by the usual pro Tubridy suspects around here.

It's a pity that the news organisations didn't publish a link to the documentation supplied by NK. I only just came across it. It really calls into question the NK assertion that the Renault gig was not linked to the pay cuts.
There may ultimately a change in the relationship between Noel Kelly & Ryan Tubridy. Relationships have been broken by far less, and somebody may convince Ryan to get his own separate lawyer, which he should do as he is a different entity to Noel based on their business relationship.
Like, if my newly bought Hyundai car from a general used car dealer falls to bits when I get it home, I don’t hire a lawyer with the dealer against Hyundai.
If Noel can’t get work for Tubridy, and eg, the latter has some special trust set up for his daughters’ future, or projected business plan for them, the best friends theme could end very quickly.
absolute nonsense he it utterly useless on TV and radio and as for charity work - know someone who was trying to engage him on a charity gig and he was demanding a significant €5-10k appearance fee.
After seeing some of the stuff yesterday I am done with this.
On a personal note, until a number of steps are undertaken at the broadcaster to ensure pay rates are in line with public service levels, accounting changes are made and the organisation size reduced, I wont be paying my license again and thats about all I can do.
Tubs can go and get a lucrative contract with BBC - I don't see the issue with that.
At this stage we have gone one for 3 weeks and I am starting to agree with those that say it needs to be wrapped up (from the public side of things anyway) we have far too many politicians tied up with it, the public eye on it and some serious issues to deal with in the country in a timeline before the summer holidays!
The stuff going on with the childrens hospital is ridiculous and the monies involved make this 345K pale into insignificance to name but one thing!

RTÉ Radio One has suffered a loss in listenership across all of its flagship shows, new figures reveal.
All of its weekday programmes have shed thousands of listeners, according to the latest Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) figures, while its sister station 2FM has experienced some growth.
The drop-off in listeners is significant when compared to the last JNLR released on November 10.
Morning Ireland has lost 17,000 listeners from the previous book and now stands at 433,000 while Ryan Tubridy has shed 13,000 listeners and is now at 331,000.

Thursdays meeting with RTE will be interesting and I expect RTE will strongly refute a lot of what the 2 liars said yesterday. Lynch in particular will have a lot to say about the Renault scheme I think. Kelly wants us to believe that the former CFO Breda O’Keefe designed that scheme. CFO’s don’t get involved in that stuff and O’Leary has already said that Forbes asked her to work out something with a sponsor so if it was anyone it was her
Sure how would Kelly arrange anything? He seems to be the only agent in ireladn who know nobody in the industry of any of the advertisers
one has to wonder why he was hired to give advice to RTE on how to work with agents when he seems incapable of building any relationships himself

Can some one reference where RT said he was going to pay back 150K. I have read several posts about it here this morning. I watched the PAC meeting yesterday but missed the afternoon session. Did he actually say he would pay it back? I am on pg 485 of the comments and everytime I get through a page another 2 are added. I wonder will the professional accountancy bodies review the conduct of their members in both RTE and NK Management?
I can't give you a link, but they definitely both said that the 150K was "obviously " for as-yet-unfulfilled obligations, and "obviously" would be paid back if those occasions didn't/ don't happen.
Hmmmmm! Colour me a bit sceptical!!
Shouldn't they be asking someone from Renault to appear? See if they could share some of their correspondences.
