Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Is RTE not audited every year?
He said he had taken a 40 % pay cut !
It was 20% 2 years in a row from what I could gather :)
And then he was paid the money back via the invoices etc .
……
Yes but they are audited on what is provider so I guess they hide some of this
the new CFO didn’t seem to get the memo to hide
Yes but the barter account wasn't audited until recently. That's where the RTE execs hid many of their dodgy transactions and scams.
Sticky that post!
And their pronunciation of Toooo-britty is worth it alone.
I'm imagining the film or drama tv series of this maybe with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Tubs 😄
He'd have broadcast live from Christy Dignam's deathbed given half the chance.
A smug, entitled git who played the empathy card all the way to the bank.
Just totally wrong, do some homework. The 40% reduction in salary as compared to 2012. The Tri party agreement made up for the decrease of 20% in his last negotiated agreement, coincidentally. Both agreements negotiated at the same time but 'completely separate'!!!
No. Daniel day Lewis.
Sticky?
Must be reassuring to have a guaranteed salary when you're self-employed.
Did Tubs really need to hit a home run today ? I don't think so. He will garner a fair amount of sympathy from today. His agent and solicitor did a good job taking the bullets for him.
Did RTE come out of it undamaged ? Certainly not.
Also I think it went on way too long. Same questions were being asked. The 3 lads got more comfortable and confident with their answers.
Would it be fair to say that most of those with a case to answer at RTE are either ill, retired, resigned or beyond reach now? If that's the case, how handy is that?
As for RT, I've often thought that there is a spectrum out there, just a personal feeling and observation. Anyway, I wasn't able to watch live, and have no intention of watching back either, yawn.... but seems to me that Tubs will be able to go for an ice cream and leave the house now in safety. Maybe even get a few "Ya hup ya boya" cheers as he fishes in his pocket for the cost of a Teddies 99.
Don’t think that’s what RT said. He said he resigned in March, learned of the audit in May and learned of a problem in June.
As NK
Ah if this was a forum it deserves its own thread!
Twas my way of bookmarking it :)
Meanwhile from Waterfod Whispers:
"It’s your job to know these things” – spanner thrown in the works as Roy Keane is drafted in by Oireachtas to quiz Noel Kelly insistence that he just did what RTÉ tells him to do when it comes to signing contracts.
QQQQ did Ryan know that the last 2 75k payments came from RTE as oppose to Renault or who ever?
if he knew they were from RTE - then he's a hypocrite..
says he loved Irish Children.. but its the parents of those children who pay the TV licence..
and all the money he raised for these children's charities - who donated that money? TV licence payers.. no?
Think Tubs wasn't aiming his show at the politicians though..
Joe Pesci
He got paid for the next six he didn’t do from RTE but he’ll still tell you the moneys coming from Renault
he doesn’t do money things, darling
Yes he does look like him as does Kevin Spacey
MoneyFellas 😄
Not sure what you watched today but that was a disaster for Tubs, passing questions to the NK and legal council was an even worse look
Had the hearing on in the background today. Found the whole process quite flawed. Appreciate that each member has the right to ask questions but the end result was a brief 10 minute session each, with prepared questions (as you would), all of whom more or less asked the same thing. If instead, half the members had 20-30 minutes each it would likely have yielded more results. I would have liked to have seen Griffin, Sherlock, Dillon and a few others get a good half hour each as I felt their questions were quite good and it seemed like they were only getting going before their time was up
If you're on 100k and take a 20% cut that leaves you with 80k.
Take another 20% off the 80k and you're left with 64k.
A 40% cut from 100k = 60k, and Tubs earned multiple times 100k, so even without the underhand money he still didn't have a 40% pay cut.
Former RTÉ Chief Financial Officer Breeda O’Keeffe has sent word to the PAC that she won’t be able to attend Thursday’s meeting
I think the best performances today were from the following :
Cassels,
Carrigy,
Dillon,
Cannon,
Sherlock
Brady
mattie and the other clowns are there for pure entertainment
Never said he was. Unfortunately for him however they were part of the show and weren't all that interested in his script.
Thanks for clarifying that .😂
Up to now I had thought that Renault had invoiced the contractual fees for RTE and bartered the consultancy to Mr. Kelly after the triangular arrangement had squared the circle of the CFO's approval of the DG's offer . Obviously I was on the wrong track entirely !😕
