Nope.. just comes across as condescending and insulting the intelligence of the committee, viewers and general public.
He's a light entertainer. His whole career is built on coming across as sincere and believable. He has had plenty of practise with the regular LLS misery slots too.
It just doesn't add up that he (as a contractor/sole trader/company director as pointed out) wasn't aware of the details involving his pay and contracts, nor that his agent didn't check or question these things but blindly trusted RTE and people who he says he barely knows - especially when it involves invoicing and paperwork that doesn't appear to add up.
Well I didn't vote for the current president who swore he was only going to be there for one term!

I think it shows lack of self awareness as that wasn’t the place as his credibility was to do with his radio and TV work.

Haven't been able to follow the thread this afternoon but have had the TV on in the background.
If I have one takeout from the proceedings its this: Bakhurst has to lay down a marker to the licence payers and NK and has to get rid of Tubridy this Friday ( if Tubs' dramatic statement is to be believed).
Patrick Kielty has the LLS covered and Callan is doing fine on Radio 1. So there's no need for Ryans particular set of skills.
If Bakhurst doesn't fire him then he's on the back foot straight away. Fire him and he sets a marker for RTE employees and us.
Tubridy made a mistake by mentioning it. His admission that he's willing to return the €150,000 also means he's running scared.
