We probably won't find out till after the war, I'm leaning towards the russians but also wouldn't be surprised if a group of western countries including germany decided that strategically cutting nordstream made the most sense (the pressure and volume of gas in the pipe and gas leak afterwards was much lower than expected which means pressure was dropped in russia or germany beforehand).
Least likely is a sole ukrainian operation, it would have to be in conjunction with the US and Germany,
Anyone else find it interesting that as soon as Turkish elections are over Eyrdogan suddenly becomes very pro NATO, EU and Ukraine? It's almost like he feared not being neutral and giving off the strongman appearance would lose him votes. Especially to religious hardliners if he let Sweden in.
He may also have feared the Russia bot army trying to sway public opinion about him in Turkey. Either good to see common sense coming from Turkey lately.
Fear of troll farms is an interesting theory. It would make some sense at least. He would have known long ago that support for Russia would lead him nowhere, except preventing reelection
I see how the US is handling Turkey potentially blocking Ukraine NATO membership
It's a big problem, people don't realise the amount of data they put online. Or they don't think.
There was another case where US service members were using some online service to practice for exams. So they would type in the question and answer on this website, then use it to generate study cards for exams.
They didn't realize it was all public, anyone could see it. There was tonnes of classified stuff, nuclear stuff.
Occupied territory having a busy day
Looks like the Bulgarians have another President Tankie Higgins as their Head of State.
I was taking to a Bulgarian fella a while back, he said the reason why his country was so backward & poor was because of Turkish & Russian oppression.
I don't understand how so many countries are susceptible to Russian propaganda influence, especially those that have suffered under Russian domination for many decades.
Others like Georgia, Moldova, & Hungary have been invaded & / or occupied by Russian / Soviet military forces yet they still have traitors & quislings conspiring against the nation.
It's the pit for those with the sense not to be meat.
Yeah, Hungary's behaviour has surprised me. I've visited Budapest a couple of times and based on the people I spoke to, the museums, monuments, statues etc. and a "Red Star Tour" of Memento Park and a typical soviet-era apartment I got the impression that Hungarians absolutely hated Russia (and not without good reason).
That they keep electing Viktor Orban baffles me.
Rosanne Barr screams over Piers Morgan about Ukraine being full of Nazis something something helluva trainwreck enjoy
A disgraced former comedienne / holocaust denier and they give her air time? Of course it was a car-crash.
Her argument can be turned on its head. Here's the essence of it-
Morgan continued by noting that Ukrainian President Zelensky himself is Jewish.
“I know, but he’s not a good one!” Barr interrupted to scream again. “Are all Jews the same for God’s sake? Talk about anti-Semitic! Just cause the guy’s a Jew doesn’t mean he likes Jews or that he is doing anything good for the Jews!” Barr railed. “Just cause they’re skin folk, don’t mean they’re kin folk.”
But, equally, it can be argued that everyone who wears a swastika is not equal to the historical, German nazis. Like she says Skin folk don't mean kin folk. In fact, nazism in Ukraine was a reaction to Russian aggression. As usual, Russia started it. I can see how the Ukrainians got a bit nazied up with those basterds in their country.
Yes, it is surprising (to me). It is enjoyable to speculate I suppose. I wonder did the Wagner march back to Russia or whatever the hell that was exactly (?) put the willies up him, make him decide to get what he can out of the US now (aircraft upgrades etc.) in exchange for dropping this veto.
Putin may not be in a position to be of use to Erdogan/Turkey in exchange for keeping sitting on the fence the way he is (relative to positions adopted by most of NATO).
It seems Russian Telegram channels are starting to confirm his demise. He Becomes the most Senior Russian Military Figure to have died in the Conflict if True.
It’s ideological brainwashing (similar to the merry Irish duo of W&D) combined with the fact that after all, a lot of people did do very well for themselves in the communist systems, as long as they were able to be conniving, grasping and unbothered by ethics or logic as card-carrying (literally) members of the CP. So their kids grew up being inducted into the same “lefty” world-view that the parents and grandparents did so well out of; only the kids, now deprived of the one-party communist structure that would enrich them, carry the ideological flame more symbolically, so to speak, and are waiting out turns of events in democratic societies that would eventually deliver them to the levers of power (as they sometimes do). Corruption is a trickier beast to unleash in a democracy because of various check mechanisms that are baked in, but at the end of the day, it is a part of human nature and it’s there in all our societies on both sides of the left and the right. However, the CPs around the world have always been able to make it a fine art and to leave a big testament to human avarice and immorality by way of practicing it. It’s why I’m always distrustful of traditionally leftist politics; some western idiot lefties that sometimes cross my path don’t even know what the hell it is they are talking about, so in love are they with their idealistic ideology, and of the eastern lefties, the least said, the better.*
*I grew up in a communist country so this is my “lived experience”, if you will; there are some good things about growing up in the way I did, vs. capitalism, although very few and far between; but that is for some other post.
Oh, Putin knew all right. As far back as the war in Chechnya, when Dzhokhar Dudayev said " When the Ukrainian sun rises, that will be the end of the Russian Empire". Who knows? maybe Kadyrov likes to remind him?
Must be the Ambien talking again...
"one of only four accounts on Monday evening that had liked the post about Rzhytsky’s last run shares the name of Major General Kyrylo Budanov – the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence."
lol brilliant 😂
Jesus they all look the same.
A bloated mess.
I'm sure some Putin Bot will be on here shortly to say it's no big deal
Well, we now know where all the front line rations went......
Most of them look a bit Hannibal Lecterish to me.
Pretty scary stuff here- Irish soldier in the Ukrainian Army returning home having done his bit. Guy nearly died a few weeks back having been chased by a T72

Anyone actually surprised
What a circus.
So a group that undertook a mutiny against the Russian state and have been called traitors on state tv are going back to fight with the Russian army ???
Madness
Also a counter-terrorism expert, and "high end protection officer" for presidents and diplomats. Also developed powers to see spirits after "waking from a coma" at age 15, which sounds like a back story straight from a comic book.
Some years ago Rhys lived and studied with Buddhist Monks in Dharamsala India, his initial intent was to become a monk but he didn't want a life of celibacy so he became an enigma.
Quite the CV
I just hope Israel somehow ends up winning.
