I get verification messages when buying mobile credit for example but nothing for amazon

Is there a more secure setup for online purchases

I've seen PSK mentioned and I saw a reference in the app to some new type of security which I can no longer find in the app 3D? Maybe

Edit: took me 15 minutes to press the right sequence find it again 3D secure

You can only have either the Mobile Banking App or a PSK

The PSK is used for logging in to Banking 365 on a Desktop, instead of approving the login through the App, the PSK will generate a code for you to login.

Why does boi do random verification on purchases , some need it some don't

48 for example needs it everytime and this is a regular payment

May I ask if your card details are saved on Amazon ?

3D Secure is a layer of security to make online shopping safer.

If you previously approved a payment with your card and saved the card details, the payment will go through automatically. This would not trigger 3D Secure. Thanks, Anna

to be fair that’s not entirely true either. I use my card with say Just Eat & would still be asked to approve in app. It appears to be random though.

I would advise to remove your saved card from Amazon in order to receive a swipe to approve notification.

@kirk. What could potentially go wrong with an Amazon transaction without extra security?

Provided you have a decent password for Amazon and a different decent password for your email what can go wrong?

A hacker would need access to both passwords to change your address otherwise anything they order will come to you and you'll get a notification, if that happens you can cancel the transaction at that point. Amazon do mess up but its rare and normally sort it out quickly.

Your BOI Card is automatically set up for 3D Secure

However, not every retailer is set up for this and you may not receive a swipe to approve every time depending on the retailer especially with saved card details. Thanks, Anna
