Pat was getting 900,000 euros per annum from RTE nearly 20 years ago. He's always had an overdeveloped sense of his self-worth and used to come over all offended when pay cuts were mentioned. Yet when he left the LLS the rating went up, as did the listener figures for his RTE Radio 1 radio show when Sean O'Rourke took over.

Yet again I'm disappointed at Pat. Of all the aspects to this case he chooses to make special mention of 'schadenfreude' -a subjective notion in his own head.
The TDs are doing part of their job in clear public view. Some devious commentators are absurdly trying to make them look like the bad guys by referring to the questions as 'grilling' and commenting on the 18 or so hours of questioning last week . It wouldn't have taken 18 hours if the RTE reps answered the questions instead of constantly prevaricating and causing numerous repetitions.
The collective RTE crew presented a pathetic spectacle -no wonder RTE is in the state it's in if this was the general calibre of the management.
