Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Macy Gray is still a thing
Getting late 90s/early 2000s vibes
From Irish Examiner
The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival has revealed its first tranche of acts for the 2023 event. Among them are a mix of modern jazz stars and older acts, with a number of figures who hit the charts around the 1990s and Noughties due to visit Leeside over the weekend of October 26-30.
Macy Gray, Corinne Bailey Rae and Morcheeba are among the crossover acts on the bill, while jazz purists have the likes of Matthew Halsall and Kurt Elling to look forward to.
Cork City Hall also returns as a venue, with non-jazz acts such as DJ Jenny Greene, and former Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley performing.
His latest stuff is fairly different, some of the songs more country sounding. Still good though and should be a great gig
Would love to catch them. I think I heard on Arena on Rte radio 1 during the week that they will be doing more gigs in Autumn alright
Lisa Hannigan, Gemma Hayes & Paul Noonan, continue their sporadic gigs around the country, with a gig in The Everyman, Cork on Sunday September 24th, tix went onsale a short while ago

Susan O'Neill, Yankee and Jack O'Rourke playing individual gigs from 15th to 17th September on Spike Island in Cork. Tickets on sale on Friday at 10am. Not sure if tickets include ferry ticket. Something different so could be cool. https://twitter.com/TheGoodRoomCork/status/1679068972845604864?t=0LeFopPQH2K7QUgEeQztFw&s=19
Saw that earlier. Some line up.
Their Homecoming gigs are generally solid, but they've outdone themselves here.
Oof! The support!
Not available over here. But i’d be going to both of these if i could, 2 full albums played in full:
Pity Corey Taylor is not playing here on his upcoming European tour
Mistletoe and cherry wine.
Hohohozier :P
Take me to midnight Mass?
Wonder will he do a Christmas tune
Hozier adds a 3rd gig in 3Arena on Wednesday 22nd December.
Helmet for 3 Irish shows in December in support of upcoming new album.
Helmet - 'Look Left' Irish Tour...
Dec 8 - Academy, Dublin
Dec 9 - Dolans, Limerick
Dec 10 - LL2, Belfast
Tickets on sale already from Ticketbazzas.
In truth, on the live circuit, they probably have no peers.
That was a great show! I'd even describe it as masterful. They played incredibly well, first set was curated & the whole show seemed to come from the heart. Second set had everyone dancing! Great stuff
The Cure last Dec would ease all those bad memories
Agree re The Cure, not sure why, probably the setlist. A much stronger band at EP 2012 with the addition of Reeves Gabrels perking them up.
Mik Pyro album launch.. July 21 Whelan's. Would recommend anyone to go see this. One of Ireland's greatest talents.
In fairness, if I'm in that crowd, the last thing I want to see is Rick Astley putting his own spin on How soon is now. Belt them out Rick and let's have a sing song.
I don’t think he needed to put his own spin on them, it was just a fun thing to do.
I'm a fan of the Smiths and Rick and I was expecting more from the set the way people were talking about it.
It was fun.
But he didn't put enough of his own spin on the songs or brilliant vocal delivery to be worth a rewatch for me.
More so that people love The Smiths
Its the same set hes been playing for years.
Bit of a poor reflection on Glasto when Rick is the highlight of the whole weekend, fun and all as it was.
Agreed, it was one of, if not the highlight of the weekend. It was a brilliant set and his covers of ACDC and Smiths tunes were brilliant.
Moderately received is an understatement.
He seems to have been one of the major highlights of the weekend. The set looked great craic on tv as well.
Yup. Fair play to him aswell. Hes been playing arenas for years now though
