Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I’m not the one who doesn’t understand here. You’ve proven that repeatedly.
Who will be Toto?
Noel Kelly’s current home page photo
I think most of us would have noticed an extra €75,000 dropping into the old bank account. Except Bertie, of course. But even he might have noticed that the envelope was a lot bigger than normal and a lot harder to get into his overcoat pocket.
No sign of any PAC opening statement or accompanying documents from Ryan Tubridy at close of business today - and a note that it may not arrive until as late as 8:30am tomorrow morning. Some unhappiness among TDs that this complicates their prep for questioning.
chair needs to be on point tomorrow and shut down crap..mattie, that louth td and the sinn fein chap, she needs to clip their wings and for their own sake save their own embarrassment.
And we're done here.
Joe Duffy on 200k a year!? Won't somebody please think of the childer?
And again, it’s his job not to be deceived.
Theres an awful lot of low hanging fruit to be dealt with in RTE, and 60+ aged presenters like Joe Duffy and Marty Morrisey must be first on the list. They simply do not do enough to justify their huge wages and could easily be moved on. Marty Whelan in with a shout too.
So you have time to go through thousands of my posts but not familiarize yourself with the facts here? Ok.
Good summary here from Bakhurst's statement
Irish Examiner -
Irish examiner Pat Kenny's take on things -
Pat Kenny about Noel Kelly - "No complaints, him and his team were fantastic I have to say that.”
Pat Kenny about Ryan Tubridy - praised Mr Tubridy for his “hard work, diligence, and honesty”
Pat Kenny about politicians -
"And I thought there was schadenfreude in spades going on.
"Mostly from the political side, people who have lost probably €1.5bn building a children's hospital giving out about the price of flip-flops. It's hard to take.”

The last comment seems sort of desperate it is like something you would hear on some general boards comments - what about the hospitals etc. I thought Pat was a better man than that. I think he has let himself down with his comments particularly the last one.
He negatively critique the RTE the Musical though and said he refused free tickets to it because he heard that it was 'depressing'.
Before the outrage starts please read everything I right (not directed at you @tobefrank321)
If Tubs had come out at the start and said yes this is my wage I negotiated it and I am given it then I would have had a bit of respect (coming from a negative respect and would have stayed at negative) for Tubs but this 2 contradicting statement and then hiding out since it happened only to say he would issue legal proceedings against RTE in relation to his contract had dropped the respect right down. Has he done anything illegal no but all his preaching before during and after Covid and shown him to be a right charlatan. That is not to say this has been the incident to show us this.
I don't see anything he will sat tomorrow (but will still watch) will change anybodies mind from where it is. RTE can't have him back now for the foreseeable future but they will try to sneak him on sometime in the next year or 2 hoping it will have blown over. Hope I am wrong. There may have to be a full re-branding of the state broadcaster (which I am a fan of if done correctly), which would mean the new DG will have a short tenure as it would have to be a totally different people to run it.
They have familiarity amongst their audience of the elderly I'd say. What Joe,Darcy and Tubs are paid for an hour odd per day of mediocre radio is criminal alright though.
Doubt very much RTE has any new blood in the pipeline either. All they seem to be able to do is poach from Newstalk.
Ideal. Was gonna go to the office tomorrow but think I'll take the laptop to the local and block out the afternoon.
Joe Duffy should be ran out of the place. His role merits a salary probably 1/5 of what he gets if even. It's practically a part time gig (if even).
I think you are right there is an older generation that have a real loyalty to RTE. It will be strange to hear younger/newer blood. Great time to be a young and upcoming journalist/broadcaster I would say.
Because RTE, Newstalk, Today FM and Virgin media presenters are very interchangeable and can do a similar job except RTE pay hugely over the odds to poach from the others. There is more than enough talent out there and working for RTE will always have an attraction. There's no need to pay huge money.
I can't remember when it was but I remember her and a few others were on the Late Late (with Tubs) where they were doing a piece on being in wheelchairs for a few hours going around and while the others were going about what they were doing and why she was went on about me me me and hoping I met no one I knew to explain what I was doing
Park the buses formation defense defense defense. In fairness all you would have to do is get a fake shiek to go to dinner with him and you will have all the news. He does have a 100% record as English Manager though
that was embarrassing, and it was lost on him when the ex CFO tried to complain and equally the chair ( Niamh) was blank.
RT & NK will go in tomorrow, properly and professionally tooled up and prepared and could make a show of the committees.
RT and NK will be different gravy for these guys. I just hope it doesn't descend to that and some outstanding questions are answered.
This woild good for everyone to hear the other side of the story and then consider views and next steps.
game on..
Pat probably wasn't in the best of moods Today over the badgers.
"junkets" happen all the time across loads of industries. The CFO current and previous should have guidelines, budgets etc. Not a free for all.
This reminds me of a time long long ago when Mike Murphy had ambitions to get into RTE as a young lad of 19. My uncle was creating road safety adverts on behalf of RTE and one of them featured 19 year old Mike Murphy with my 42 year old mother acting husband and wife. My Dad acted as an angry driver when Mike nearly drive into him in his white Anglia. On the set Mike told my Mum to keep fingers crossed he got into RTE as it was a very good job.
..
Older people listen to shows. Like the Late Late. Do they care if Tubs is kicked off it? no. They will watch it anyway.
RTE push the message they need to keep these high earners when in reality they don't. It's easier just to pay Tubs what he wants because they don't have to find new people etc. Plus who cares? it seems to be an open book policy in terms of budget. Sh*t hits the fans and go crying to government to bail it out
The sway of junkets etc seem unfounded in the current era. Advertisers are concerned with viewership and listenership figures and value for money on advertising spend. A marketing manager is not going to be able to justify spending their budget on national tv and radio without evidence of campaign effectiveness and good value per airtime.
and even then the decision makers in these organisations are not the ones who need freebies of RTE, probably have half a dozen people offering them amazing seats for any rugby or stadium gig
If Ryan was still doing the late late his first guests when he’d come back would be the canteen rats.
I didn’t know Pat was such an ardent naturalist.
There are rats in RTEs canteen!
