Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

”The PAC had an unconscious bias against me, just like the Royal family did with Megan Markle. Did you know I met her once?”
Anyone who listened (past tense) to his radio show will know Tubs cannot mention Markle in any capacity without adding in “I met her once”.
Normally it's stipulated in your contract whether or not you can work outside of the role you're employed in.
I'm surprised tbh as media companies are notoriously tight on this.
If any of the board members hands in their letter of resignation this week, can it be refused, and if so what happens then?
I am surprised he is even mentioning it in that fashion, surely the less he says the better!?
Ryan Tubridy: 'BBC was lovely but I'll never make the move to the UK'
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Sam Allardyce should have been part of the temporary leadership team 😁.
“When I was presenting the Ryan Tubrity show, Pat Kenny had a bigger dressing room than I did for his LLS. That’s affected me so deeply I need weekly therapy” 🤪🤪🤪
New DG getting a grilling on the radio 1 lunchtime news
Talking a lot but not saying much more that we already knew
Sounds like to me nothing much is going to change... Time will tell i guess
TE Interim Leadership Team includes acting dDG Adrian Lynch…
for ****’s sake. Outrageous
All the familiar faces, Eimear Cusack, Adrian Lynch, Paula Mullooly, Deirdre McCarthy, and Richard Waghorn were all on the previous executive board
Are they, I wasn’t aware of that , thanks.
Maybe then their payment might be better controlled and commensurate with the programmes they present and industry norms.
Maybe I’m wrong but I have seen very few so called ‘talent’ leaving RTE for other media outlets and the same lot
are still around, but I get your point about making them employees.
But this business of a management guru running a ‘stable’ of clients in the one outlet needs to be addressed because it seems to me such agents have far too influence on who gets what gig and under what conditions.
Just right now Backhurst flip flopping on contractors pay so don’t expect anything too drastic there.
Getting a good honest grilling from Dobbo on the use of agent
This is exactly the point. The presenters get a free car and the car company get the exposure. But what it boils down to is that RTE lose out on advertising revenue from that car company
Coming across as another DG who's gonna be untouchable...half the interim board are existing...non commitable.....
50% still there .. not so much a clearing of the decks . just a little sweep to the side
On would assume that as these brands are private entities who only care about the bottom line that the smart people running these entities consider these brand ambassador roles to be a good investment
Now after putting out a subtle hint of job lay offs......dropping a hint to staff to not complain too much
Head of Content Jim Jennings will also be removed from Exec and we haven't even heard from him yet.
Geraldine O Leary has announced her early retirement...
There is no point in focusing too much on a handful of public faces. RTE has been losing money years, the really is the 1,800 headcount needs to be reduced or the license fee (or replacement) increased. Probably both will happen.
Who now will know the answers to the questions we need to know 🤔
From what I'm hearing - he intends to proceed more or less as before with a few new faces. Defending use of talent on contract and agents and same sort of funding model. Not impressed at all..........................................
Is that Gavin Jennings grilling the 'new' guy? He doesn't appear to be afraid of losing his job anyway 😆
Pretty shocking
Geraldine O'Leary (Head of Commercial) is taking early retirement from RTÉ. She was due to leave in August. "Bringing my retirement forward by a number of weeks is not something I had anticipated," she said.
Bit disappointed ,but I would be prepared to give him a chance, he’s in his first day in the new job.
Time will tell…..this ‘registration of interests’ stuff beginning to look a bit murky.
Lot of doubts about who will approve of these ‘interests’.
What about the other product placing on Bannon's show? Named building materials, kitchens , bathrooms, paint, everything? You'd wonder how he's paid for that!
More political cronyism, does anyone think the PAC members, who are paid an additional allowance for their services, we're appointed on merit? Kind of hypocritical for these guys to be assessing other peoples fitness for their roles
I really like Kathryn and I enjoy the shows when she is deputising for Ray.
i think her charm is her ability to share her experiences of being a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife, a sister-in-law, a daughter-in-law,……and she comes across as someone who is pure sound.
Complete whitewash
