I personally think they’re going to go in all guns blazing. We’ve seen how arrogant, aloof, and out of touch the RTÉ execs are, what is there to make anyone think Tubs and Kelly aren’t equally so?
I’m not a PR “expert”, but I have considerable experience in the area and more experience than most in crisis management communications. Were I advising Kelly and Tubs I would have advised them not to do this. If they still insisted on doing it, I would advise on absolute and complete honesty. Frankly, I don’t think they’re capable of same so I predict their decision to appear here will backfire horribly. Their decision to take solicitors in with them suggests they’re afraid of the questions that will be asked and not willing to be 100% honest.
I predict it’s going to be a blame everything on Forbes 💩show. They’ll be banking on her not to have a miraculous recovery and contradict them, so will lay everything at her and RTE’s door. Throw in a bit of “I’m saw-wee” from Tubs and they probably think everything will be fine.
I’d expect new revelations but mostly I expect it to be a disaster, and the fall out to be enormous.

People like Morrissey. Tubridy was caught on the hidden payments issue. Morrissey got ahead of the car story by admitting it without being prompted. Now, the 100K loyalty bonus story about Tubridy has broken. At this stage, RTE appears to be making decisions about who gets in the lifeboats and who doesn't. It definitely seems like Morrissey is getting a seat at the moment.

I’ve been hugely critical of her performances before and answers to the committees. I think her playing the mental health card was both disingenuous and disgusting. No-one could credibly accuse me of defending her.
Just don’t think you needed to go there, that’s all.
Not only is Tubridy's career at RTE over I cannot see him working in the media here. He hasn't the talent to make it elsewhere which makes the millions he pulled out of RTE all the more galling. My recollection at the time was that he had to dragged kicking and screaming to accept a pay reduction at the time of Covid. As we now know there was no actual pay reduction but a pay increase. You couldn't script it.
I think his lack of self awareness may well allow him to think that he can begin to rebuild his reputation by appearing before the Dail Committee. Handing back the 345k while welcome would at this stage be academic. His time to do that was when he stepped down from the LLS. I cannot separate the timing of the story coming onto the minister's desk back in March and his stepping away from the LLS in March. Too much of a coincidence.
As the contracts of RTE's 'stars' elapse they should be offered drastically reduced salaries. Let them go if they think they are worth more. They know deep down that they are taking us for a spin with the money their on. RTE needs root and branch reform with steps taken to rebuild trust with us the public. No more cute hoorism antics. No more freebies for the 'stars'. No more mad entertaining expenses. It's too easy to spend the taxpayers money.
Unless every last cent is accounted for suspicion will remain. It seems to be far too easy in this country to act the bollox in the public sector and ride off into the sunset without accounting for your actions on a fat pension.
There could soon be a vacancy on the BBC for Tubs. Great timing.

I think it's well publicised about what happened in the UK. I can't see any major stations taking a chance.
I think he's going to need a few years away, write a book maybe, before returning to TV or radio in any form. I don't know if he's permanently finished in Ireland. If he returns here it'll be small stuff. A documentary on the Kennedys type stuff. Ryan Tubridy's favourite walks. Book reviews.
