Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Because the are retiring in Janurary?
Aerosmith is heading into retirement with a farewell tour. The group announced Monday that they will have a 40-date North American tour, featuring special guests The Black Crowes.
I’d imagine they just pick whatever acts are touring and that they can think can shift close to 40k tickets as opposed to picking specific genres of music.
Because both would have been massively better in a packed 3arena instead of a pissing rain Marlay on a Tuesday, and aerosmiths fanbase would skew even older than both.
GNR are a much bigger band than Aerosmith and Crue/Leppard. Crue/Leppard could've been elsewhere as well
GnR in Marlay was a massive flop, they were handing out gold circle like confetti.
No idea what tickets were like for it but GNR are much bigger and they couldn't sell it so why would Aerosmith?
That's exactly the point I was making.
Depeche mode announcing arena tour for 2024 on Monday morning.
Been spolit the last few years gig wise and not sure what major ones I'd like for 2024
Would be interested in gigs by
AC/DC
Garth Brooks somewhere like Cork/Kilkenny
Pearl Jam
Green Day (still sore over Covid **** last summers gig up for me)
The Who (they still owe us from the orchestra shows been cancelled due to Covid)
Oasis reunion (say more 2025/2026 for that)
Depending on cost of tickets I'd consider U2 and Bruce
Out if all the acts I'm yet to see live I'd love to see Paul McCartney (thinking he might open the new stadium in Liverpool). Smaller acts like 'Coheed & Cambria, Papa Roach and Sleep Token
Dermot Kennedy be worth seeing but he has played half the country over the last while so might take 2024 off the road
€€€ also not its best so maybe less gigs 😢
I went to Green Day in Marlay last summer and it was the best gig if my life. They're are outstanding live and I'll pay good money again to see them live again.
So apparently Coldplay’s tour crew told fans they will be back in Europe in 2024 and they said Dublin is one of the stops. I hope it’s true, maybe that’s why Taylor didn’t get Croke.
Taylor didn’t do croke park cause it’s championship time in June and no one can play croke between May -July.
Where did you see this?
When might it be announced if true?
Gig would have to be June or September if true due to GAA season?
9am announcement anyway.
Looks like Damien Dempsey will be playing Iveagh Gardens next year according to Aiken's instagram story
Yes they will be back, Dublin supposedly in July is what their management were telling people at Slane.
A lot of important GAA dates in July (if the calender is staying the same)
They could play the Aviva I guess, alot of the venues on this tour are smaller than there.
Aviva staff told only 3 shows in 2024 and all by Taylor.
Shocking no one at this point. That and his december vicar st shows are his Dublin residencies for last decade at this point
Yeah no surprises but just said I'd flag it in the thread anyway sure. The summer/December gigs are both fixtures in gig calendar each year as you say
At Lana Del Rey on Fri night and she apologised for the short notice of the gig and said they would definitely be back soon. I know it sounds like a throwaway remark but she seemed genuinely moved by the reception she received so wouldn't rule her out of gig later this year or next year. A lot of the set was from her older catalogue, she could have a completely different show with mostly material from NFR onwards.
I forgot about her, ridiculous the way these summer gigs are going on sale a year in advance.
Really hope so.
Never failed to get a ticket before but was the new queuing system that mostly done me.
Using multiple devices doesn't seem to be the way to go any more not sure if it's IP address or having to be signed in to TM but appeared all sync up to same position making it pointless.
Her management should have at least acknowledged a fan presale.
I'm sure the arena must have been booked well in advance but I'd say the uber corporate BST had a block on making it seem London was her only Euro gig outside of Glastonbury.
They all have to be announced between now and November. That’s just how the industry works.
in fairness people want notice for these summer shows if going to affect holiday plans next year.
could be worse, could be be Peter Kay who has august 2025 shows in 3 arena on sale a few months.
pretty much all major summer shows for 2024 locked in already.
I noticed that getting Foo Fighters tickets, you have to log in to join the queue so can only join the queue once (I tried joining without signing in but takes you to the log in page. My queue ID ended up being identical across windows/phone). Seems like all that'll do is encourage people to make a couple extra accounts
Their last EU leg was announced last August. I don’t know where they are playing, I can’t see them coming for just one show, so I doubt it’s Slane like someone said. I would assume it would be 2 - 4 shows like the other Europe shows got.
Is the season in Croke still the same next year?
Is it likely for Coldplay to do a 3rd European leg of the tour? They seem to be playing absolutely everywhere so maybe it's a possibility. However, I just don't see it happening. Over the 2 European legs they've covered most of the major cities. There would have to be some overlap on a 3rd leg which just doesn't seem likely.
as expected
Will be trying for this, my preference was always indoor for DM, so skipped Malahide castle.
