Its interesting that RTE, Politics and GAA are all bed fellows in one family alone; the Andrews. You could nearly include the Guards in there and the HSE on the peripheral not to mention the 5th estate of journalism thats meant to keep all of these kents on their toes. Very much a two tier society to me anyway.

Firstly I’m not for a minute not defending NK and the **** deal concocted with DF to pretend RT took a pay cut while still preserving his overall take home…and cost the public find/license fee funded part ultimately nearly double with the barter account massive fees.
However , it absolutely makes sense for people to use agents to maximise their earning potential. It takes all the emotion/guilt/personal favour stuff out of it. For example when I organised gigs in college, if I dealt directly with the ‘talent’ eg a comedian I could also get them to do it for a decent discount by playing up the poor mouth or ‘it’s for charity’ etc angle. None of that plays with the cold blooded agents. It’s the same reason we all use estate agents to buy and sell our houses, most of us would be a disaster and risk bringing emotion/sympathy into if we had to deal with the buyer /seller directly.
Its funny the way the dope of a photographer didn't take a clean plate as it a shot with no "talent" in it; just the the scaffolding and location for future proofing the shot. Literally the background. This would make the removal of "talent" easy as falling off a log for the most untalented amongst us. Amateur hour.

Are the contractors not on contracts - Noel does like his contracts as we know and even managed to fool the idiots in RTE into signing 5 year contracts. So I'm not too sure if people like Ciara Doherty can just walk away - Possibly a ploy. Announce you're leaving NKM but really not leaving or, Technically leave NKM but with a view to rejoining when all this is over.
The only thing we do know for sure is that Ciara D and Ciara K have said they're leaving (cutting ties)...that's all

That Baz muppet again - If someone did a poll asking 'do you want Baz on your TV', 'Yes' would come back in low single figs - RTE have the viewing figs for that talking about death with the ma and all the other crap he's in, but they keep giving him shows - why is that (he says knowingly)
I bet that quiz was another one of Noel's ideas like the CB one where the whole show gets farmed out to disguise fees paid to the NK crew - I posted this before about CB and what I thought was going on
I think the plan (and I warned about it a year before it happened) was that RTE would farm out shows so they could pay an Indi company to produce the show - It could work like this re the recent quiz show:-
Total cost of show 100k - RTE billed for same - Recorded at the VM studios so it is completely independent of RTE
25k paid to CB by Indi Co, thus keeping the 25k paid to CB off RTE published figs
75k split between VM (for studio rental), Noel Kelly (for much needed commission), Indi production Co, misc stuff
It all goes a bit peat tong and CB decides to fess up as it was only a matter of time before it came to light
Plan was most likely the brainchild of a devious, cunning, greedy git

I have no problem someone having an agent it is up to RTE paymasters to get the best pay deal for whoever they employee. This has not been happening and the extremely cosy relationship between Noel Kelly is disgusting

To be fair to Baz, he did leave RTE and make a success of himself. More than any of rest of them have ever done in their career.
