Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Yes in a 1.6 million village Gay, Marty and the greedy Garrihy girls all met on a boat, coincidentally, at the same time for a party and promotion.
With every post you make you lose more and more credibility. If credibility was a company you'd have gone into liquidation 3 weeks ago.
GUBU.
Do we really need gossip and rumour from that rag
Hiding behind a Jester’s face!
Dublin is a village - these things happen.
Himself and his agent will need to produce a performance like this.
Are you familiar with the words self awareness and context? Nothing illegal doesn't always equate to nothing immoral. Tubridy clearly lacks self awareness and is not intelligent enough to understand the concept of context. If he did he wouldn't have trousered the 345k Euro.
The more that comes out the more i'm beginning to hate him. He is smarmy, entitled, devoid of talent and has never done an honest days work in his 50 years. He has gotten where he has because of connections. Hopefully his days in media are over.
You are absolutely entitled to go and bat for him on here. Your opinions make for a interesting counter point to the main body of sentiment towards RT.
Unbelievable.
€150k I think I read somewhere.
Too little too late.
Don't forget D'Arcy also took his wife back with him into RTE, we don't know her salary.
I read that. No one closes ranks like the GAA in modern Ireland. FF fell, the Church fell from grace but of the 3 old pillars of society the GAA is the only one that has survived as strong as ever in 2023.
Does anyone have a link to that please? You hear the same gombeens defending RTE on here.
Same here.
i think RT should come out fighting and insist all monies earned were contractually agreed.
nothing illegal was done.
I’d have more respect for tubridy if he didn’t hand back the money to be honest
Did you hear the piece I referenced yesterday on radio 1 before the Galway v Limerick game? Shocking stuff, cheerled by Des Cahill with all the panel telling us how great Marty was and a good GAA man so that made it all ok in their eyes.
You wouldn't get it in China.
How long was the stop over in Dubai?..one day or two or three? Both ways?
There is so much bullsh*t in that statement I don't know where to start.
The Japan trip was not "cost neutral". That figure of €2,427.10 is frankly, bollocks.
I know the names of all of those who went on that trip - two of them I know personally. I can't publish their names for obvious reasons but I can tell you it was basically a week-long piss up and fine dining as well as some minor sight seeing and "touristy" stuff. The piss up part was wasted on one person on that trip as he - or she - is teetotal, so I guess RTE saved a few quid on that at least. 🙄
the language around "did not pay for flights" is deliberately and intentionally vague. They may not have paid via a credit card or cash, but was the famous barter account used? I can tell you airline companies aren't in the business of giving Business Class tickets to Japan (with stopovers in Dubai) away for free.
Some journalists have an agent because they could be hired to speak at an event, chair a panel or do a fireside chat.
Personally I don't think she needs an agent, I don't have one and neither do the guys I work with. Anytime I have been asked to do something I have been contacted personally or one of the main publications I work with have been contacted about my availability.
Marty is the jester of rte - untouchable even by those at the top
It has always been interesting that the HSE employees are all such heroes, yet at the exact same time the HSE is a complete mess. I'm always reminded of a quote from the movie "Moneyball"
If he's a good hitter, why don't he hit good?
Those bad attitudes are endemic in the HSE and the results are there for everybody to see and experience.
Meanwhile Marty commentates on the All Ireland camogie qf between Cork v Kilkenny. The female co commentator is extra fawning over him. 'That's right Marty', 'as you said Marty', 'good defending be Steffi Fitzgerald Marty', 'Julie Ann Malone did well Marty'.
I never heard such a love in, hugs and cuddles commentary. Marty safe in the bosom of the GAA 'national institution'. Sickening.
And I'm very much from a GAA background and played inter county.
Nah I think Tubs knows the games up.
Its **** shameless. "We did not have to pay for flights or tickets", which actually means "We didn't pay cash for the flights and tickets, we just ran it through the slush fund and sure that is free money and doesn't count".
Completely and utterly shameless.
Answer: C U Next Tuesday
...when Tubridy sheds light on it that is
Indeed. As was said earlier, the solicitors are there to remind the PAC about Angela Kerins.
Tubridy's best defence is to attack out of the gate. Opening statement full of self pity about being locked in house for 2 weeks getting vegan takeaways delivered for fear of verbal and physical abuse. He's had years of misery slots and pity party's to be more than comfortable in this arena.
Then he'll move onto distancing himself from the nuts and bolts of NK's grubby little deals. NK will take it from there as far as this being a case of business is business and RTE's mismanagement is not his problem.
If him and Kelly play their cards right and the legal team play a blinder, I can see them really shutting the PAC down.
What would poor Lottie Ryan do if they shut down 2FM
The mental health card will be pulled out. Online abuse etc etc
He will be playing the victim from start to finish.
Reminds me of the amazing top gear joke by Stewart Lee part of which discussed the private book deal Richard the hamster Hammond got after his car crash , he alluded the book deal should have been with bbc world because “we funded that crash”😂
my point is all those celebrities are earning on the back of the taxpayer and therefore part of those deals belong to us
Yes. I think Tubs will go for the teary contrition angle, claiming little to no knowledge of NK's deals with RTE, as he is after all, just a simple Toyman.
While I think going on a tv or radio interview with a soft touch RTE buddy would have been a far easier route for him, he's chosen this to be his bit of redemption drama. From the very beginning I was certain he would not appear for questioning as I see him a bit like Trump, who studiously avoids these kinds of settings unless he is lawyered up to the hilt because he doesn't have the smarts to talk his way out of trouble.
Tubs will surely take the airy fairy questions and his solicitor will take everything that could land him in hot water. Much of the lines of questioning will be shut down and since many of the people doing the questioning are hardly the sharpest knives in the drawer from the standpoint of legal interrogation, it will probably work.
I have a feeling the whole country is going to expect fireworks on Tuesday but at the end of it, we will be thinking.........."Eh, so what actually happened there?"
It will be a Houdini act of mega proportions if he comes out of it smelling better than when he went in though. They may be able to claim "Nothing illegal, guv" but he's been proven to be greedy, deceitful, arrogant hypocrite who creamed off the public purse while his colleagues were getting hammered financially. His future career requires goodwill from staff and the public and I can't see how it gets it.
