Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I love the quote from Marty earlier.
"I did these events for Renault but I didn't get paid for them".
Ah, yeah you did Marty. They may not have handed you an envelope of cash, but you got free use of a car for 5 years. That's payment, ya thicko.
"It was an error of judgement ". Only cos you were caught. If this crisis had not arrived, you'd probably still be driving a free car in 5 more years.
More condescending nonsense from those who have their noses in the trough and are laughing at the rest of us.
BERTIE
I want to transfer €200 million of plebs money to my friends who are proper royal kents.
MOYA
How can I help?
Well I need really poor projects that fail?
No problem.
Excellent.
Thank you.
No offence I watched over the years.
None taken.
Fuckin’ brutal. But fun bad.
Dont we all know. Westlife indeed.
HAHahahah. Indeed. By the way I have no bank account.
No problem. Howandever.
As I said previously unions don’t want to rock the boat and collect union fees for the boys to travel to conferences and over nights etc.
Exceptional talent? NKM know how to lay on the BS.
Isn't that bartering, and where have we heard bartering before?
Renault would have claimed the VAT on Marty's invoice as a VAT expense in their own VAT return. Its cost neutral to Revenue.
If this was the case the BBC would have retained his services after he did summer relief there. He got found out and had no family ties to save him there.
Communities tried this in the US, before. A network of tradespeople doing "barter" work.
Now we all do favours, for friends, in our fields if applicable but they were able to transfer favours to a 3rd party, for that 3rd party's work.
Needless to say they got hit with substantial tax liabilities
Did Marty submit an invoice along with VAT charged?
Its the "ad hoc" part I don't like.
Did he declare the extra income or bik or gift and everything else?
He needs to be clear about that. The drip feeding of information from RTE means public cynicism increases daily.
so Marty Morrissey was previously a brand ambassador for Colm Quinn BMW (Athlone) around 2016, did he tell RTE about that or was it 'ad-hoc' too? https://www.google.com/search?q=About+https://www.facebook.com/colmquinnbmw/posts/colm-quinns-bmw-brand-ambassador-marty-morrissey-says-his-new-bmw-packs-a-mighty/1040080009410695/&tbm=ilp via https://twitter.com/ClareMacCarthy/status/1676996121829179398
That doesn't matter - it still needs to be declared.
He knew Podge and Rodge cousin had the car and knew the story and wanted your man to hang himself with the answer, given back the day before and The Tan says back in June today, now who has told lies, The Tan got the car in lieu of money and to dodge the tax bill if paid, he stated in his letter he didn’t get a car allowance like CFO stated and didn’t mention claiming mileage and subsistence trying to be cute.
If Marty didn't charge VAT and Renault claimed a VAT expense, then revenue are actually at a loss.
Very difficult to charge 23% VAT on the loan of a car.
Marty's pulling the wool over our eyes.
There's one question to ask Ryan Tubridy next week.
You have been describe as a top talent, what is your top talent?
Timmy Dooley on TV just now saying he was asking about a different person https://twitter.com/TonightVMTV/status/1677074650617004032
Daily Mail have picked up on the issue of two different car brands, the BMW dealer deleted Facebook images of him being described as Brand ambassador and claim he was merely a paying customer...
While I have sympathy for those trades people, bartering like that is tax evasion. And I also think there might have been tax evasion involved in the RTE barter account. Advertising is a service, which also must be declared and paid for with the government getting their tax cut.
I know it sounds like I'm obsessed with people paying tax but as a PAYE worker, I've no alternative but to pay every last cent, so its annoying to see potential evasion.
Oh that's easy fooling people into thinking he had talent.
How is Taylor swift involved?
Lol his late late show replacement who is an rte outsider is 10 times the talent of tubs.
I'd say she must have been in the back of the Renault at some stage!
Oh, I don't have any sympathy for them.
As I said, we all do favours for friends and they'll catch us back.
The trading of favours???
Marty is well fecking able to afford a car. Even being above board he'd have paid a massive discount on the car, for a few hours "unpaid " work.
It's fecking greed and entitlement rampant in upper RTE, Semi-state, and politicians
it may be cost neutral to revenue, but if you are VAT registered you have to include VAT on your invoices, unless to non-eu/vat registered eu business/a few other exceptions.
Her next album will describe that.
1 outa 3 ain't bad
Know that old saying "a new broom sweeps clean" - I think we need a bulldozer at this point
Almost every day there is a new story - whatever happened to this don't be drip feeding us stuff, but I guess it keeps the papers selling
Aaaaargh finger pointing overload
Timmy Dooley is a Clare politician, so he'd want to be really sure that Marty is not liked in his voting area to go after him. Maybe that's' why he is clarifying or maybe not... who knows...I'm not sure if Marty is liked or not. If I guessed, I'd say he was.
But some of the rumors flying around now about Marty online are really not nice... and the car might well be the least of his troubles... but rumours are rumours and they might not be provable if there's cash involved. The source that is pushing it the most, he's a nasty piece of work. So I'd be very cautious on that.
What Dooley is hinting at there is something far more serious. People getting extra wages through car allowances - including people who don't have cars or a license to drive. Now, that's concealed payment for sure and one element of money laundering and it would be true to RTE's form so far. They must have something on that...
To think this story broke because RTE was so committed to sorting out Ryan Tubridy, of all people.
"Oh, my God, we can't lose Ryan. BBC Radio 8 Border Regions is showing a strong interest. He's our top celeb. We need to get him that money."
He has no exceptional broadcasting talent whatsoever. Fair enough, he's been around the business so long that he knows where the cough button is on the radio and how to manage a show's order, but he's fundamentally lacking in any kind of wit, authority, charm or relatability. He's massively over achieved in his career by correctly identifying RTE's enduring obsession with mediocrity, where the good stuff the channel has done has been due to creative people doing stuff before RTE noticed and tried to shoehorn in Amy Huberman.
We can only hope that this scandal prompts a MAJOR restructuring of the organisation. I want them to revert to only one form of funding, firstly, and stop with the insane conflict of interest which their hybrid model generates. Let them make do. If it means broadcasting for only 6 hours a day and the kids TV is a sock puppet, so be it.
Sigh.
