For me the most damning aspect of the last committee meeting was the way some members towards the end tried to undercut and talk against the aggressive questioning of their own committee members. It was pathetic political point scoring. Shameful

My thing was they could do a Late Late Toy Show and a Telethon separately. I'd actually enjoy a good Telethon with a good mix of comedy/Music/Dance. acts.
I always felt calling it The Late Late Toy Show was sort of against The tradies and description act.

Then there's another poster who tries to defend RTE from an intellectual stand, which, has no substance behind it and is as faux as Tubridy is.
Marty performed a service which was MC. Having looked this up, everyone providing entertainment or similar services, eg a Band must charge VAT.
The idea that you can avoid charging and forwarding VAT by bartering or swapping is a non runner.
Imagine if a plumber or electrician decided they wouldn't charge their customer VAT and forward it to the government but instead would take something in lieu such as a gift, leaving the government without VAT.
Marty is now in Ryan Tubridy territory and should be suspended until this is cleared up and he shows proof he is tax compliant. Not telling his public sector employer he was in receipt of a substantial gift beggers belief.

How mean are some of these people. Tubridy taking his 345k on the sly. Morrissey having the use of a car. Kathryn Thomas named Renault brand ambassador which I presumes means a free car. Lottie Ryan with her stupid stunt on the grounds of RTE. Morrissey and Thomas on their wages could well afford to drive a luxury car.
We the taxpayer are having the p*ss taken out of us by these people. Clear RTE of these parasites and start again.
