You make it sound like he's doing it as a voluntary act. He's RTEs Gaelic Games Correspondent, working out of News and Current Affairs as well as being one of their main commentators for RTE Sport.
He is well compensated for both roles and there are expenses to be claimed to carry out these jobs -as it should be.
It is also true that he does a lot of meet and greets at GAA clubs around the country, as far as I know, for no money.
He is decent and very likeable but taking the use of a free car as an RTE news staffer, in my view is not right.
It shouldn't have been acceptable back in 2018, either.

Audit the lot, if that was the attitude this is tip of the iceberg.
And if RTE is in any way typical of other state organisations, a good old torch shone elsewhere could reveal a lot of revenue to be collected. Sure can then be directed to a new RTE and scrap the licence.

In my company this would be regarded as a conflict of interest and not permitted. Nothing is free - this car will be paid for directly or indirectly. At the very least it should be disclosed.
Easy known Marty was in Tralee on a Saturday nite in February covering a league match and the day after up in ballybofey .€€€€
Marty is a grafter compared to some of the others in RTE. He travels the length and breath of the country and is thoroughly decent. I wouldn't begrudge him.
Not sure all publicity is good publicity...they are a punchline atm

Well I wouldnt be surprised if the summer party was cancelled because thats probably for the ordinary low level workers.
The real partys for those at the top will keep going. I mean 2fm hosted a boat party this week with its radio presenters and used a company owned by one by the family of one of their presenters. Of course I'm sure all that went through the proper procurement process and they're definitely wasn't any lavish spending.....
