Tyre and Track details.
Is it always on this weekend? I can't remember. Was last years British GP on this date? I don't think it was.
Usually start of July..
I enjoy Silverstone, here's hoping for a decent race with maybe a different winner?
Williams have a special livery for this race, commemorating their 800th race. Although I believe that this is actually race 799 because of the missed rave earlier this year...
Agreed, a first Silverstone win for Max Verstappen would be welcome.
that williams livery is mank, a special "rothmans style" livery would have been better
Hopefully Max can do the job here. Be interesting to see what kind of reaction he'll get from the home crowd...
The forecast for the weekend is looking fairly wet but it could change I suppose
Nice. I guess theh decided it was going to be for there home grown and not wherever the next race is which I understandable. Maybe they will use it at the next race too to make it official.
When British fans are involved it wouldn't be a good reaction
After seeing what happened at Wimbledon there must be an extremely high probability and risk of Just Stop Oil protests at Silverstone. Just hope no one does something stupid and gets hurt. The Grand Prix could easily get red flagged and cancelled.
So I see there is going to be an Extra F1 team at Silverstown this year as part of Brad Pits Formula 1 film,
This was nice to see on Thursday. Jennie Gow, the BBC journalist recovering from a stroke was in the paddock to interview Lewis ahead of the weekend. What Lewis said, couldn't care less, but a bit of positivity to start the weekend.
Hi there folks. I see Silverstone has lovely weather this afternoon.
It is great to see everyone having a nice time.
The top 3 have changed to include Sargent, underneath the RB's at P3 which is good for him.
Ocon did really well there to get into P2 so far to get up alongside the Ferrari's in the top 3.
Not the most exciting of sessions so far.
Here is the Red Bulls on the soft tyre now out on track.
Ooof. George Russell nearly went off the track there at Brooklands.
Alex Albon on fire again. Hope he can carry it on through out the weekend.
He is a future star for sure.
An RCM update has said the start of FP2 at Silverstone will be slightly delayed. F2 qualifying has just ended. There is barrier repairs that need to be carried out before the FP2 F1 session can begin.
Charles LeClerc in still the garage at this time due to an electrical issue in his car. Ferrari are investigating it at the moment.
Sainz is also in P1 at the moment on the timesheets.
I see Hamilton has brought Roscoe with him for the race weekend. Good call, I'd say Roscoe has a better chance of winning the race than Hamilton.
Things are looking rather desperate for LeClerc's car at the moment. I don't think he will able to get out in this session if these electrical issues are not resolved soon.
Mercedes should sign him up for next season alongside George Russell.
De Vries has a puncture on his front right to the finish of FP2.
A comment on the BBC article on the practice sessions that made me laugh:
"A significant minority believe Hamilton will win this race. They probably also believe the earth is flat."
This is all getting a bit sad very quickly.
Hopefully it's a Verstappen win this weekend and keep going to beat Vettels 9 wins in a row. It's a bit mad for all Hamiltons dominance he's only managed 5 wins in a row
You a Hamilton fanboy?
Three out of your four posts here have been personal digs at him, all in the space of a couple of hours.
That’s a you problem, no matter who the driver is.
Also, not everyone has to be a ‘fanboy’, I just think the level of hatred towards Hamilton is bordering on insane.

Anyway, looking quite ominous again. Hopefully the Williams pace is legit and we see them there or there abouts.
It would be shocking if they weren't.
