Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Deadmau5 headlined Higher Vision last year, Fatboy headlined Indie and also did 2 arena dates.
True enough, but very quiet this year. Have tickets for the Chemical Brothers in November who I do like but are probably too mainstream for my liking, but bar that not a lot happening in 2023.
Lets be honest though...The Cure were crap that night. Certainly the worst i've ever seen them. A mate of mine who absolutely loves them felt the same. On the flipside, Orbital were utterly magnificent. The best i'd seen them since 1994.
Agree, I gave up on them early enough that night. Went over to the new bands tent to see an upcoming US act called The Killers. Whatever happened to them!
Lads, my young lad is off to Lana tomorrow. He has an iPhone and there doesn't seem to be the option to add his tickets to his apple wallet. Is that usual? Option always there for my Android wallet.
Are they the new tickets with the moving lines? They can't be saved to Apple wallet, but you can download the ticketmaster app to his phone and sign in. The ticket is available regardless of whether he's got internet or not.
Ah good stuff. I didn't know that about the new barcodes. Cheers.
100% Colombian Christmas with the Fun Lovin Criminals (now sans Huey though) in Limerick and Dublin... "playing the album in its entirety along with all the hits and fan favs!"
Extra date for Hozier on the 20th December.
One moderately well received Glastonbury slot leads to this?
Yup. Fair play to him aswell. Hes been playing arenas for years now though
Moderately received is an understatement.
He seems to have been one of the major highlights of the weekend. The set looked great craic on tv as well.
Agreed, it was one of, if not the highlight of the weekend. It was a brilliant set and his covers of ACDC and Smiths tunes were brilliant.
Its the same set hes been playing for years.
Bit of a poor reflection on Glasto when Rick is the highlight of the whole weekend, fun and all as it was.
More so that people love The Smiths
I'm a fan of the Smiths and Rick and I was expecting more from the set the way people were talking about it.
It was fun.
But he didn't put enough of his own spin on the songs or brilliant vocal delivery to be worth a rewatch for me.
I don’t think he needed to put his own spin on them, it was just a fun thing to do.
In fairness, if I'm in that crowd, the last thing I want to see is Rick Astley putting his own spin on How soon is now. Belt them out Rick and let's have a sing song.
Mik Pyro album launch.. July 21 Whelan's. Would recommend anyone to go see this. One of Ireland's greatest talents.
Agree re The Cure, not sure why, probably the setlist. A much stronger band at EP 2012 with the addition of Reeves Gabrels perking them up.
The Cure last Dec would ease all those bad memories
That was a great show! I'd even describe it as masterful. They played incredibly well, first set was curated & the whole show seemed to come from the heart. Second set had everyone dancing! Great stuff
In truth, on the live circuit, they probably have no peers.
Helmet for 3 Irish shows in December in support of upcoming new album.

Hozier adds a 3rd gig in 3Arena on Wednesday 22nd December.
Wonder will he do a Christmas tune
Take me to midnight Mass?
Hohohozier :P
Mistletoe and cherry wine.
Pity Corey Taylor is not playing here on his upcoming European tour
