Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I bet if you actual reviewed that 1.65bn it's a very dodgy number in terms of her involvement
They’re hiding behind the DPO (Data Protection Officer) a lot.
Munster gave O'Leary one hell of a beat down there. I don't often watch committee, but that was an absolute savaging. O'Leary was almost completely broken there at the end.
This is the Twitter thread that has upset Geraldine....

Agree on Imelda being a bit rough there. It's like she saw Griffin's quick fire method, and doubled down, thinking she was in a Royal Rumble bout.
Yes and where did all that money go? Loads of contradictions.
Ciaran Mullooly was on TV3 news at lunchtime - retired RTÉ reporter, and rightly pizzed off but still gave a professional and informed insight into the situation as only a person like him could do - fair play to him - must feel good getting a few digs into the current pile of poo that masquerade as leaders of RTÉ without fearing being called up to the DG’s office 😀
It's beyond a joke. It's a legal argument
"I can't confirm" "I can't recall"
They are very well able to recall and confirm when it comes to throwing someone else under the bus.
I'm swimming against the tide of opinion here, but I thought Imelda Munster was OTT there.
Fair enough there's many questions to answer, but she fairly badgered the witness and frequently wouldn't allow her to finish her responses. There's a difference between probing and being hostile. There was an element of grandstanding to what she was at.
It's easy to forget that these people aren't on trial and this isn't a court of law.
It's not just you - They know that no committee sittings have ever had this level of viewership and probably never will again and some of them will play up for it.
Grandstanding attack dogs. How anyone could be impressed with this show is beyond me.
….
Management costs way higher creative costs - shouldn’t it be the other way around for such a project?
They all go there. Every single one of them, they want the high pay and perks but none of the responsibilities. I am just surprised it wasn't played sooner. It makes a mockery of people who are suffering mental health issues. Using it like a get out of jail card.
There is plenty to question them on without getting personal. It’s important that the committee cannot ever look like bullies.
On the other hand, crying about mental health is pathetic. I’m sure she is struggling and not sleeping great but hey, must be a shock when you go from zero accountability in decades to actual scrutiny.
GOL would have been within her rights to ask Imelda to change her tone when asking questions.
It's easy to be no shrinking violet when you are in a higher or at least equal position of power.
It's a whole other kettle of fish when someone in authority over you is asking the hard questions.
Just ask the question
"Who Signed off on the Tubridy deal"
Holy **** Collins has aged 10 years in the last week for sure.
Yeah 1.6bn but what margin of profit ?? Turnover is flattery profit is reality..
It’s completely disingenuous to say “I brought it in”. It’s RTÉ, the biggest station in the county, advertisers will advertise there regardless of who is in change of commercial.
Richard Collins coming out fighting. Good to see.
I assume if you were not represented by NK there’s a chance he could influence your fee by biggin up his own @“talent” with his direct line
How many different pairs of glasses did Moya bring for today?
I'd love a job like it but would 100% not attend a hearing like this
Nothing to lose. He's going to be sacked.
I think a lot of people would agree but I understand Munsters' tactic as if she played fair she would have got the run around crappy answers. She went in hard to fluster and get what she wanted. If they'd answer questions correctly she'd never have played this card. She's working with what she's got.
Exactly, what exactly was she responsible will be a different number altogether.
Also she said the hotel in Chicago was paid for, what was paid for by the tax payer, becuase I was in Chicago and the flight ended up really expensive so I done a lap around the world to get cheap flight. Did our wee Geraldine do the same? f**king doubt it
Ah, Paddy Cosgrave......
I'd like to see Doherty treated the same way O'Leary was to be honest. An extremely unlikable person.
