Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

It would seem that the entire board will be asked to step down tonight.
He might find that the shredding machine is red hot.
Which no-one accepted at the time. Toyman Tubridy was clearly the central marque of the whole concept. Unbelievable hubris.
Tubridy's first statement said it was a matter for RTE. Now he has information apparently.
To be fair, if he publicly came out and said he had no confidence in them, then the whole board would have to resign - and where's the fun in that.
Not to be too much of a cynic but those in power know that certain kinds of story can get exceptional amounts of traction over the relatively quiet summer. It is in their interest to keep the rte **** show at the top of the agenda. There's a certain amount of this as payback too for where pols feel rte has been unfair or caused them undue difficulty. It's clear the whole political system is enjoying this as much as we are here.
Shouldn't be allowed. They should be grilled for weeks yet. There are so many budgetary transactions unaccounted for. Why get rid of them now? So much needs to be answered.
The country is only the population of Barcelona, and should we be paying "celebrity" tv presenters half a million euro a year? No way. No as long as RTE is subsidised by the taxpayer. The hundreds of overpaid w*****s in RTE can take 100,000 or else f... right off.
Tubrity has his credibility destroyed.
CSI Donnybrook.
Deny, deflect.. then slowly drip-feed information when that doesn't work while still hoping it'll all go away.
It's the standard Scandal Management Playbook in this country.
They are also hoping a bigger story will come along.
If people have a VM box, Oireachtas TV is on #207 for full screen squirming - RTE's news channel is #200 but has news scroll on the right and bottom
Sambo – check
Mug of tea – check
Packet of crisps – check
Phone on silent – check
Good to go.
If it goes really well, I might have to draw the curtains later
Surely they'll have learned that lesson after what's happened with DF?
They shouldn't be allowed anywhere until all the inquiries are finished with them.
Or else have it set up that they can be compelled even if they're gone from their jobs.
Let's face it Tubridy and the RTE senior management just took the p**s out of everyone in the country. Is there no proper oversight of the entities. We had similar with the Gardai as well.
You said it. Imagine how good our quality of life and living standards would he if all the money collected by revenue was spent properly and provided value for money.
We a country that generates and insane amount of revenue for it's size.
Who's this chairing the committee?
On RTÉ News Twitter page too...
RTÉ's former CFO, Breda O'Keeffe, to tell Oir Media Committee that her replacement Richard Collins was in the office two months before he has said, and that she kept him briefed on Tubridy contract negotiations as they progressed
The Board and Executive has splintered!!
Blamestorming has started. Nice little dig at Dee Forbes too.
Breda O’Keeffe will tell the Committee that she was 'not aware any guarantee had issued' until she heard about it last week. She says she believed the guarantee on the Renault deal was sought by Noel Kelly but refused.
The board is pointing the finger at other people now
F**k me do they ever take any responsibilty
Twitter seems to be 20 mins ahead of the telly - is this being shown on delay?
That Moya Doherty has the kind of smug smirk that would get her thrown out of a classroom.
That's the very fella 😂 hard to tell which is more prevalent from your post, the anger or disappointment that it's all coming crashing down 😂😂😂 dry your eyes good lad.😘
A mate of Joe Duffy...they have that in common...
The opening statement she's reading now was released to the media beforehand
She thinks she's above it all. Doesn't see what all the furore is about. Easy for someone worth €100m or so.
Ah!
Siun and Adrian both immediately calling out "legal issues" - here we go!
Reading a statement is so insincere. As a director can you not talk form the hip in a communications profession no less. Make eye contact please.
