Nothing unusual....expect to next receive a message in phone app that your request is at preparation stage and they will reach out to you via messages . In my case it has taken 7 to 8 days to get that message
I was collecting the car last Friday, and was told by Tesla delivery team that they ran out of disc holders. They advised me to raise a service request and they will post one out when they are back in stock.
Hi guys,
Looking for some guidance on what the typicial response time is for service request. I raised a Mobile Service request on Sunday 2nd July and haven't received any feedback yet. Tesla app says "You will be notified within 2 hours with next steps", which I understand is not realistic. But just want to know whether it is normal to not receiving any acknowledgement/feedback after 3 days.
Thanks.
Usually comes with one.....try glove box and if not I am sure Tesla delivery site will have one to spare
Quick question. Is the model Y supposed to come with a disc holder?
Tax disc arrived today and I just realised that there's no disc holder in the car. Not a big deal, but I was kind of hoping for a Tesla branded one to fit in with the car.
Sounds like cabin over heat protection might be on. Think this kicks in if internal temp exceeds 40C
Excellent, glad you got sorted 👍
If the sun comes out then car rapidly goes above 40c internally at this time of year.
I have yet to use the overheat protection, normally I crack open the windows if in safeish location.
this is on. Be surprised if car made it to 40 degrees today with clouds to trigger it, but lot of glass so maybe?
Make sure you haven't enabled Cabin Overheat protection. (Pull up the tab when on Climate in App)
EV database gives real range figures. The figures given match my experience.
Failing to see a question there?🧐
Hey! Glad to report that this worked and fixed the issue for me.
Thanks again!
Any chance you have a link, flat denying due to a test drive.
Have a query on how to setup how charging, use phone or charger app? Will schedule at night block surplus solar entering car? I posted it in Solar section. Link below.

If the app is displaying something as on then yes, you have some setting set that shouldn’t be or your pressing buttons on the app while it’s in your pocket.
Folks can I ask anyone with a RWD MY it says 455 WLTP can anyone who has driven a while tell me realistically what they are getting.
Are you sure it's the air con? Sometimes the battery is being cooled by fans and it can sound like there's a fan on inside the car.
So several times I have come back to the new Y now and I can hear the air con on inside while I approach. I thought it might be the pet setting but it isn't on. Also looks like steering wheel and or seats might be on too (based on app graphics).
presume I'm doing something wrong? Definitely do not want this draining battery
How much for the wrap @liamog?
Lovely colour really sets it off against the other Teslas on the road.
It’s a nice colour and it suits the car, if you keep the car a few years, you’ll have got value from it. It reminds me of a colour called “Cactus Green” that Audi had on the go a few years back. Well wear.
I just wanted to know in general, first. I keep seeing VW offering 0% PCP on the ID.4, so I'm tempted to go for an EV, but most have interest rates of 5-8%.
I drive a 2018 Audi A4 petrol (shared with my wife, so one car only in the family), got it on PCP with a view to replace it in 3 years, then Audi dealer offered me 20K for it (but they would sell it for 29K), so I decided to keep it when the PCP ended.
400+ km of range is normally much more than enough for me, although 3-4 times a year I go for a long trip and I'd rather avoid having to rent a car these days, with such ridiculous prices. I do 10.000 KM a year, but with an EV I'll probably use my car more often at weekends.
I wouldn't go for a small car, as I'm planning to have kids soon and I might end up keeping the next car for 7-8 years if finance doesn't allow me to change in 3-4 years. Thanks.
Model Y is a great car, the best selling car in the world this year, and you'll be doing well to find a better value family car.
Range of the RWD is fine for most, you don't say what sort of driving you do, how much space you need etc ..
What is the current situation with the model Y, please?
Also, is it a good time to buy an EV? I've been considering going electric since 2016, then went for petrol due to anxiety range with the Leaf at that time.
I guess some factors should be considered such as current grants (reduced recently but still in place), likelihood of new models coming out soon (not just Model Y but also with the competition), expected breakthroughs in batteries thus improving range (probably nothing huge out there for at least 2-3 years), car depreciation, etc.
I would like to change car every 3-5 years ideally. Thanks.
I wonder are you seeing people doing PPF wraps. Paint protection film is a clear film that is applied to the car to protect the paintwork from damage. It's thicker than the vinyl wrap which only offers a small degree of physical protection and is primarily used for cosmetic changes.
I was thinking about it, out of 4 cars, I've made cosmetic changes to 3 of them. The Ioniq had the silver grill wrapped, the Mini had the bonnet stripes and now the full colour change on the Y.
I had the same issue. I was able to fix it by disabling autopilot (and everything else within that menu) then doing the two button reset on the steering wheel. When it reboots, turn all autopilot aids back on.
Afterwards Tesla vision was fully working and I could see the measurements in cm to objects.
Give it a try and report back 👍
For reference I found the fix below in tmc;
It's lovely looking, do you mind if I ask where you got it done and how much it was. Pm me if you prefer.
Cheers
Is he, or she a leprechaun?
aiye, but many people were throwing their disposable income around to keep up with their neighbours, but it wasn't actually disposable, they had debt out their ears.😉
Looks great on the FB photo.
But needs a bonnet stripe..😁
