Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

A bit like this?
"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
Commercial revenues are going to take a serious hit at RTE. And you can be certain licence fee revenues are going to fall.
Government will be asked to bail them out using taxpayer funds.
First response to this request should be to handover the land in D4 in exchange for a bail out, and the land immediately given to the Land Development Agency to be used for housing.
It's not about heads rolling. It has be crime charges at this stage.
Sacking people is giving them a way out. It's not good enough. Nowhere near good enough
Must be pretty decent if they think it might earn GAA/RTE 10 million this year.
Article behind paywall.
Banana Republic stuff with Claire Byrne talking about the waste of money on the Musical. She is earning 280k a year for a bland radio programme.
Rats. Where is that money going? Who is getting paid?
I heard it’s actually a good show , just the entire handling of it was inept
I’m definitely holding off paying my (already overdue) TV licence.
Do you think the tv licence department are still organising court dates for non payers or would that department have paused any actions?
Fair city in a halting site would be amazing
Alan, very simple straight forward questions now.
What shows/events over the last 30 years had the biggest budgets? What shows/events had the biggest losses? What shows/events had the most profits? Where are the accounts/paper trails that show where the monies from losses and profit went? Track. Track. Track. Who was over paid? Where has money not been tracked and where did budget money left over go? The unusual payments/accounts/budgets must be found.
TV Licence collection (and any prosecution for non-payment) is handled entirely by An Post, not RTE.
Let AI write produce and star in it
RTE Barter Accounts The Musical.
ive the rights got to that.
which crime would you expect people to be charged with?and who do you want charged?
At this stage it would be worth going to court, representing yourself and telling the judge you are making a conscientious objection as a result of the willful mismanagement and waste of money demonstrated by RTE. Refuse to pay the fine, get a spin in a Garda car to some prison, sit in a holding cell for an hour and get a spin back home begging the Guards to turn on the siren.
If enough people object I can't see them wasting their time clogging up the courts tbh.
I know. But would the optics be good right now to take people to court. Does anyone know of anybody who has received a court letter in the last week?
Also, I would argue that to pay the tv licence right now could be classed as funding possible criminal activity. Isn’t that a crime?
See my above post. I don’t want to be knowingly funding a possible criminal operation as that’s against the law too 😂
Email local TDs and express your anger, tell them you will not be paying and ask for advice.
I meant to post last week that I expected RT and NK to appear before the Oireachtas committee(s). You can be damn sure that NK isn't going to let his prize asset be attacked and his business brought down without a fight. They will have war-gamed this to develop a strategy to limit the damage and a roadmap to RT's rehabilitation. The committee appearance will be the first step where there'll be a lot of finger pointing in Dee's direction (we all know how good RT is at pointing). RT will probably agree to pay back monies to RTE (or a charity). There'll definitely be a carefully managed reveal-all interview in the press - "Ryan opens up about his heartache and regret" - in which he thanks so many people for their messages of support. There'll be a whole series of fluff pieces distributed through the usual NKM channels about Tubridy and his stablemates. I wouldn't even rule out a guest appearance by Tubridy on the Late Late.
Speaking of Fair City, I wonder will it be mentioned today that 3 Fair City actors are currently involved in litigation against RTE for alleged breach of the legislation pertaining to the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act 2004? Probably can't say much about ongoing litigation but that's another potentially enormous cost about to hit RTE - and if the Fair City actors win their cases, the floodgates will open big time!
RT already comes across as incredibly fake. He will need to deliver an Oscar worthy performance to convince anyone of his innocence.
They're going to provide their own booklet of evidence...
They've obviously worked on a strategy with O'Malley and co.
They'll promise to take a pay cut, give back money and never do any of it.
They are all going to start throwing each other under the bus. RT could potential kill his entire career with this, his head is right up his......im sure he is not liking that the reputation he believes he has is been pulled to pieces. Just watch the last Late Late for an example of that.
Im sure he think he can swan in, tell everyone he "know nothing", walk out the other day and back onto RTE programs.
I just don't get what Ryan Tubridy did wrong? It's like any job. If I have the bargaining power to increase my salary, that's what I will use. I am not working for charity or some sense of duty. All he has to do is say Newstalk will pay him 450k and RTE has to do better. I don't care how RTE swing it as long as they do. It was reported that Pat Kenny is being paid 400k a year from NT so its likely RT has been given similar offers.
It probably simply came down to RT getting itchy feet with other offers and then RTE coming up with this scheme to give him another 75k. RTE is in the wrong here.
...get a spin in a Garda car to some prison, sit in a holding cell for an hour and get a spin back home begging the Guards to turn on the siren.
Ask for some air support from the helicopter 500ft over your house with the night sun on, as a street party takes place in your honour
It's not like any job. His pay is declared publicly. He is paid with tax payer's money.
He lied to the public and colleagues about taking a pay cut when he didn't.
He didn't have the bargaining power with the public, to get acceptance for even more pay.
So had to engage in this under the counter payments sham. In getting paid in this way, it actually cost RTE an extra €50,000 to run sham events.
He is a public affairs commentator, he knows his pay is published and is a news story every year.
His job is based on his reputation. He can have the money or the reputation but not both. So yes, he needs to care.
And he didn't have the cop on to see what damage this could do to his career should it come to light.

follow up to the toy show musical just announced
**** Show - with audience participation now showing at the pac
Whatever about NewsTalk, Virgin Media stated the other day that they have never made an offer to Ryan Tubridy saying he doesnt fit their brand.
