Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I kinda feel sorry for him at the minute. If he didn’t bring Barter Account No1 into the main RTÉ financial system, would we be where we are today?
I don’t know why he would say there were no more knowing that a forensic audit was probably going to happen.
I assume the 35% is for changing water into wine.
To barter implies no cash.
3 eggs for 1 loaf of bread, thats a barter exchange?
So if you want to cash the account out at some point or part of it; the charge is over the top at 35%?
All the lies you told me......
If only she'd asked them all... we'd might be able to pin something on all of them.
If you learned your trade in Dunnes Stores you should be able for anything after facing Margaret Heffernan.
Agree, he should have made sure that proper control systems were in place under his watch. Did he never question how the promotional / jolllies were being funded?
It is literally his job to know where the money is coming from and going to
The CFO's duties include tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions
My money is on the blonde O’Leary one
Given its airtime rte couldn’t sell normally it’s probably harder for media company to sell it, so effort is relevant to % charged
They can get away with against the committee but they should be sending in revenue to check the place out as they can’t with them as someone has to answer their questions and someone has to own it. No kicking it down the road.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve a few resignations incoming to get away from it but all resignations should be declined.
Gov should be using every power they have to get Dee Forbes, RT and NK legally answering questions. None of this bs avoiding it
Dont think there was cash paid - afaik, barter exchanges don't work like that
Let's call out something very obvious - That 35% charge rate on the barter account is a major red flag at the lengths they were willing to go to move money around. No business in their right mind would chose such a system. Deliberate deception. Fraud.
They must have thought it was untraceable.
It actually feels like money laundering, a fee a crime enterprise would pay to legitimize their dirty money.
It's **** disgusting waste of taxpayer money. I'd love another energy credit after paying a €1400 leccy bill not so long ago.
What does it say? I'm not on Twitter so can't see it.
Was it not a broker fee, eg a commission on the deals the barter company made for them? Very high percentage all right.
It could be that the barter accounts were disguised as something else (or were hidden away completely). I find it hard to believe the CFO knew all about them last week and was just lying through his teeth when questioned about them.
The only feckin ads that seem to be on RTE at the moment are Lotto, McDonald's and the stupid Lizard.
I'll not be purchasing any of those items while this sh1tshow is ongoing.
Oh to be a fly on the wall at board and executive board meetings this week. One can imagine that emotions were high as they see the curtain coming down.
CFO is in for some beat down tomorrow. Probably came to RTE thinking it would be an easier life than the likes of Dunnes...
I suppose when you're worth 120 million you can dress whatever way you want, not go to whatever meetings you want, and act however you want. Talk about falling asleep at the wheel. She was probably hired because of the party/junket access someone worth over a 100 million brings. No wonder she never went to a meeting.
Cash does not necessarily mean actual Euro's - its any exchange of goods for whatever reason
What's the deal with 35%? I was reading it yesterday, but there's been so many posts today, I'll never catch up.
Just a short clip from last week of RTÉ's CFO 'confirming' there's only one barter account.
Totally incompetent and should be fired immediately with good reason
It’s the fee that the broker/handler charges on each transaction
The fee charged by UK brokerage facilitating barter transactions for RTE

The Renault/RTE/Tubridy contract is signed by a member of NK Management staff, on behalf of Tubridy, dated "21/4/2023".
WTF....
A month after he left the TLLS... WTF...
Yes I know, another post mentioned cash payments. Afaik, the accounting standards for recognition for non-cash consideration changed from Jan2022 so probably the auditors were looking at that back in march.
😂 😂 😂
It’s a shitshow in there
If others hid the barter accounts from him, how is he to know about them? I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's a genuine possibility.
And I've said it earlier, it's not that easy to fire someone for incompetence when they work in a Semi-state body.
Some of the documentation requested by the Oireachtas Media Committee has been supplied tonight, but with the prospect of more to follow - many of the requested documents have not yet been compiled, including the request for ten years of barter account statements
Where are you getting this info from?
Nevermind, I've just discovered a thing called Google.
