Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I recall Sharon Ni Bhealan was annoyed a few years ago she wasn't being paid as much as Bryan Dobson. She wanted more money.
FFS... I'm not surprised but this is an absolute disgrace.
I really really hope that action is taken on the back of this.
It's disgusting that this is being drip fed from the RTE board. It's now hard to have any trust whatsoever in any information they provide.
Where can I watch this online tomorrow? The last time I could just see a short clip when I clicked on "watch live".
It would be ideal for a shots challenge, down one every time one of them says "I don't know", "I don't remember" or "I was confident once the DG signed off on it".
We'd be langers by 2 and comatose at 2.15.
Alan AK-47 Kelly will be gobsmacked at these new revelations. He only asked for details for the one barter account for 20 years. I'll have to tune in Thursday. I can see a bunch of resignations before the next round of Dail committees so they don't have to attend.
I'm so ghey for you right now!
Looks like it is according to the above document. also anyone can be compelled to attend as a witness to a committee.
Who may be compelled?
4. In general, any person in the State, any Irish citizen outside the State, or any person in an Irish registered vessel or aircraft or on an Irish diplomatic mission outside the State may be compelled.
5. Exceptions exist in certain circumstances for the President, an officer of the President, Judges4 , the Master of the High Court, the Attorney General, an officer of the Attorney General, the DPP, an officer of the DPP and persons entitled to diplomatic immunity
39. In summary, the following amount to offences under the Act:
(a) If you have been directed to attend to give evidence, failing without reasonable excuse to comply with that direction where you have had certain expenses tendered to you in advance;
(b) If you have been directed to attend to give evidence, refusing to take the oath or answer a question to which the Committee is entitled by law to an answer ;
(c) For other types of directions71, failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the direction ;
(d) Doing any thing in relation to the Committee proceedings which, if done in relation to Court proceedings, would amount to contempt ;
(e) Giving false evidence to the Committee, which, if given in Court, would amount to perjury74.
Yes RTE was getting great value for money for the tax payer
BINGO!
...
What's coming out is nothing short of fraudulent use of tax payers money.
Whatever about resigning there needs to be repercussions for the players involved. Sailing off into the sunset with full Defined Benefit pension entitlements will leave an extremely sour taste.
Whilst corporate governance reviews can take place (and should so) it's obvious what the outcome will be - poor culture, insufficient controls etc...
People should be held accountable where appropriate for the situation the organisation is currently in.
I’m gonna be so fat what with all the huge bags of hunky dorys and salt and sweet popcorn I’m eating on Wednesday:Thursday afternoons 😂
Sounds like the latest revelations about other RTE barter accounts are even more serious than what was revealed last week. Looks like the news agenda will be full of this tomorrow.
If they want to save some money they should cancel that too!
Thought in fairness It looks like it costs about a fiver to make telly bingo...
Perjury has to be done on purpose so essentially (e) means that he had to give false evidence on purpose. Genuine mistakes wouldn't be false evidence. It'll be up to the State to prove the told lies on purpose. He will claim he was mistaken or didn't know about the other accounts.
And on second thoughts, was the CFO asked if there were any more Barter accounts? I don't think he was.
He's a liar or incompetent (or both). Any of that should mean he loses his job tbh
Ah leave Shirley Temple Bar alone (can’t remember his real name) but I like him
It's pretty hard to sack someone here in Ireland, even incompetent people. Especially from a job in a State-sponsored body.
HSE and ESB closing barter accs all over the shop
Catherine Martin very very soft on RTE, how were those review panels chosen? also an attempt by the cabinet to push this controversy out into the long grass and close the book on it to an extent, Michael D very quite too given that he loves to weigh into other things. Basically the establishment is trying to tone down any measures they are going to deal with RTE.
The Dail committees though sense blood and are going after RTE, the new revelations that there were other barter accounts is going to keep this controversy alive
RTE’s top 100 list of earners has been supplied, but anonymised (“for GDPR reasons”). 31 of the top 100 are presenters. The 100th highest wage is €116,851
Barter accounts and the ESB are the least of our worries....the wages in it are genuinely insane.
Average is 78k...
Doireann Garrihy, the 2FM DJ, TV presenter and comedian, was the RTÉ presenter with the most external corporate work over the last two years.
The committees are interesting but these, like tomorrow will likely descend into a showtrial.
While it's extremely entertaining to see RTE finally getting a well deserved comeuppance, I don't think it's an entirely fair way to get to the truth either.
In any case RTE is completely fucked now. A complete reorg was on the cards but looks like it's nailed on now.
Micky D doesn’t want his own pensions and barters looked into
Fecking hell can't say I am entirely shocked when that CFO muppet was on 200k.
Agree, it needs the auditing equivalent of the IMF brigade that rocked in a few years back.
Basically a crew who cannot be compromised and will take no **** as the Therese a manager from accounts is performing all sorts of delay tactics and being deliberately obtuse in her answers having been given that message all the way down from the board to delay.
It seems we have seen nothing yet!
Ah GDPR, it's the administrators 'health and safety' go to excuse for when they don't want to do something and just want you to go away.
He thought it was all over, it is now...

Given that many of the jobs there are highly skilled, I am not surprised that the average is €78k.
Wonder has the CFO said **** this **** after being absolutely so publicly ridiculed in the aftermath of PAC and quite possibly been mislead by commercial and others in RTE.
Could be a case of "A Barter Account for everybody in the audience" - Well RTE staff anyway
