are teslas worth the money compared to euro brands like VW?
They are better equipped, more powerful, more efficient, better software/UI, better charging speed and Superchargers.
And also less expensive..
(I also like VW and other EV's)☺️
Here's my settings.
Saw this green model Y on the M50 earlier. Lovely colour. Obviously a wrap.
It depends on your car preferences.
I have 2 BMW’s and a model 3 in the garden. Tesla wins hands down but I like minimalist design.
Test drive a few and you’ll start to develop what you like.
Yes. Owner is on the Facebook group.
Same with me......the only time it adjusts automatically is at motorway Exit/entry).. I remain to be convinced that it works for others automatically outside these circumstances
Audible chimes is a feature of Tesla Vision you just need to activate the feature
That’s what I thought alright.
Sent a trade-in request on my 1 day old MY RWD with white interior & 40km on the clock out of curiosity. €27,800 was the estimate given.. Makes me wonder if further cost reductions are around the corner with such a lowball offer.
They have been offering low ball offers on nearly new teslas for a while.
If you really want to sell it you will find someone to buy it
I updated to 20.4.1 tonight and was playing around with TV in the small driveway. I can't get the Park Assist to work. Constantly says "Park Assist unavailable". I have the Park Chimes enabled in settings but no matter what I do I can't get a chime or a "stop" message to appear.
I didn't get a chance to drive around after the update. Does it need time to calibrate or something?
Thanks
Couldn’t resist 🤣
Lots of car wrapping and ceramic coating going on of late. Does the ceramic actually do much considering the price?
First you need to understand the differences between ceramic coating, wrapping and PPF.
I do, but that sort of isn't my point. Maybe I should have spelt it out. I don't really see where the value comes in all these add on. As I understand the ceramic helps avoid some dirt. But doesn't actually do anything to prevent scratches or dents, so what exactly is it doing to warrant a few k spend. And that green wouldn't be top of many lists for wrapping a car...feels a bit 2008! :)
Ceramic is not a couple of k.
It depends on “your” priorities with cars. Are they just a bid with wheels for going a to b? Do you regularly wash them weekly at home as your hobby or your interest?
That green might not be your thing but it’s someone’s. Life would be boring if we all drive Grey cars with blue jeans and white tee shirts.
Do what you like. Don’t loose sleep over other peoples hobbies.
Some people cycle, some people spend money on a trailer to carry a bike to a field to then cycle. Is that mad? Why not cycle in the first place?
Horses for courses?

The net is closing in 😂
I don't pretend it's a practical purchase. I got the car wrapped in a colour that I like because I like the colour and wanted a car that was that colour. If Tesla had offered a green paint option at purchase I would of paid for it. I'm planning on keeping this car for a good while and wanted something that makes me smile when I see it in a parking space. I'm fortunate to be in a financial position where I can afford to do it.
I didn't know it was yours Liam!! I thought it was lovely and eye catching (that's why I snapped it).
I have to say that I think it is a lovely colour too.
Obviously, it is someone's preference.
Tesla doesn't do anything like the green colour, so it is an understandable decision. Please dont ban me Liam :)
I have seen others where the wrap is almost, if not, the same as original colour, look, hence the 2008 reference, probably poorly worded/linked to the green option as opposed to general observation. I had never heard of wrapping until recently, and now it seems to be flagged daily, with some paying big money for it. I was wondering if there was any sort of protective nature to it that I was unaware of driving value.
Not many cars were being wrapped in 2008.
Looks great on the FB photo.
But needs a bonnet stripe..😁
aiye, but many people were throwing their disposable income around to keep up with their neighbours, but it wasn't actually disposable, they had debt out their ears.😉
Is he, or she a leprechaun?
It's lovely looking, do you mind if I ask where you got it done and how much it was. Pm me if you prefer.
Cheers
I had the same issue. I was able to fix it by disabling autopilot (and everything else within that menu) then doing the two button reset on the steering wheel. When it reboots, turn all autopilot aids back on.
Afterwards Tesla vision was fully working and I could see the measurements in cm to objects.
Give it a try and report back 👍
For reference I found the fix below in tmc;
I wonder are you seeing people doing PPF wraps. Paint protection film is a clear film that is applied to the car to protect the paintwork from damage. It's thicker than the vinyl wrap which only offers a small degree of physical protection and is primarily used for cosmetic changes.
I was thinking about it, out of 4 cars, I've made cosmetic changes to 3 of them. The Ioniq had the silver grill wrapped, the Mini had the bonnet stripes and now the full colour change on the Y.
