Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Might sound strange to someone who thinks the wages of senior management should be capped at €100k.
Not strange at all. Market pay dictates who you get sometimes.
I never bought my current TV as I won it.
Unless it was written into their contracts that they had to submit to testing, they can refuse to be drug tested without penalisaton.
You are, mate. He might not be able to get sponsorship from the likes of Renault (for now at least) but there’s any number of companies who are uninterested in this latest controversy who would be happy to sponsor him. He was the most successful living broadcaster in the country for almost fifteen years, that kind of equity doesn’t evaporate overnight. No matter what the headers online say.
RIP.ie sponsor of Tubridy aPodcast.
And this one just in……
Tub's tales from the Morgue, He investigates what happened to bodies in the morgue and see how long it takes for him to get a horn
He knew his salary. He just didn't want to tell the world what he was on. And I think it was an unfair question for him to have to reveal his wage to the whole Country.
His audience is old folk. They don't do podcasts.
Can't imagine what he'd come up with anyway. His MO is death and misery.
I am not living in cloud cuckoo land. What company would wantt to be associated with RT? The current sponsor of his radio show is cancelling their one year contract before the year is up.
How do you get rid of the current staff, e.g. the current CFO to make space for the BBC/C4 etc?
You think good people from the BEEB/C4 will leave their jobs in England to come here for €100k?
Top 20 earners should be regularly drug tested.
And if they’re not on something they should be reprimanded.
Say what you like about the presenters but no-one in a position to be a senior level manager will take a role for 100k. If you had the expertise, experience and by extension so many other opportunites, would you?
You’re living in cuckoo land if you think RT wouldn’t be able to get any sponsor for a podcast.
sure they can go to the BBC/C4 ETC
True, they're (possibly) paying twice that amount to the current CFO and he doesn't even know his own salary, or much else that goes on in the organisation for that matter it seems.
Strange as this will sound but RTE would struggle to get good, experienced people to fill their senior management positions for that kind of money.
Think Funny Friday 😉
That's about three months expenditure.
coke and hookers? No, sorry that was boards
:pac:
There was talk of axing the Angeles at 6pm...
Where did all that money go?
RT will not be able to do podcasting. I have being doing it for 7 years and when I started it was much easier in that there were less podcasts available.
Now everybody and anybody is doing a podcast and if I was launching a new podcast today I am not sure if I would do it.
To have a successful podcast you need the following three things:
1 - A successful brand that people know and trust. That is not RT.
2 - You will need a sponsor as you won't be doing the podcast for free. RT won't be able to get a sponsor.
3 - You need listeners to make it a success and RT won't be getting many listeners.
There are certain podcast platforms that will place ads on your podcast and you will get paid from these ads on your podcast. To get paid you need to have listeners and as I said above RT would not get many listeners.
He could try and go down the subscription route but as I have already said he won't get many listeners.
So in essence podcasting and RT is a no go.
Do you fear Tubs will become that most maligned of creatured, an angry middle-aged man?
Full fathom five thy father lies...... Well RT meets the criteria as a liar.
Did Dave Fanning ever earn half a million a year? He is happy doing what does best which is play music.
Just a phrase. At least it’s not as bad as him being labeled a psychopath.
btw, did NK break any laws regarding the Covid payments?
Interesting to here O'Callaghan and others speak up eehhh ... now what happened!
RE: RTÉ CFO and career, yes you would think that he'd have some media experience but as pointed out what do expect from a CFO in terms of career, however who you all should be looking at is the bizarre appointment of Frances Abeton, who left RTÉ quietly in 2018 or so. That appoint just doesn't sit right with me.
True enough. The issue is with more than one person.
Six feet deep? You love the dramatics
