Well its not always just Tesla. Tesla and Zucar offered me 10K more than a main BMW dealer in Kildare. Now those guys know how to low ball!
My understanding is that as the purchase agreement was entered into by means of distance communication, you have a statutory right to cancellation with a refund. This is also stated on Page 5 of the order agreement entitled "Region Specific Provisions".
I suppose this may not apply if you are making a transaction at the dealership, if thats even possible.

Great car so far, but I've a question. On standard Autopilot... Is the speed supposed to change as the speed limit does?
Say AP is set to 100km. Speed limit changes to 120km but the AP stays at 100km. Should it increase by itself? Same question for decreases?
And how do I enable Tesla Vision? Phone app says it's on 12.9 but car menu says 11.1. I've tried the 2 button reset a few times and no luck. Update version thing is set to "Advanced".

Congrats on your car and glad that any pre-delivery anxieties are in the past.. The Autopilot is not dynamic and whilst recognising when speed signs change it doesn't automatically adjust (unless when coming off motorway exit). If you use right stalk (one pull down) or touch speed sign on screen it will adjust to new speed limit

Still can't get the car to update to 12.X (the Tesla Vision update). Will have to try again.
Funny though, on 11.1 the wipers seem to be working fine. I've heard others complain after updating so will have to see.
My auto wipers worked perfectly yesterday, was a day of on/off drizzle with a few heavier bursts. My Model 3 is on the latest (I think) software 2023.20.4.1.
I find normally they have been poor, often needing to manually start them. Hopefully they have improved with software update..
Make sure to adjust in your setting "Advanced" re software downloads. That means that you get software updates much quicker than those who have to await a general release - a beta release of sorts. Adjust the setting and see what happens. YOUr PHone app will also tell you when software updates are available for download and you can actually trigger the download from phone app so if you are in location with good wifi (at home) its very efficient and it gets pushed through to your car. .. Be aware though once you trigger download your car is not drivable until update complete which takes about 20 mins
Latest version of software is 2023.20.4.1 so if you have this it is fully up to date and retrospective to all previous releases. Maybe you are expecting more from Tesla Vision. My instinct is that you well be up to date

Is there an alignment tool with the lights by chance?
I had the lights on last night and I noticed on standard beams (not full beams) that the lights seemed to have a "step" higher on the left than the right.
I'll try get a real pic, but I put a crude drawing below to illustrate what I mean when looking out from the front. Art is NOT my strong suit sorry! π π
I had a look at the lights when on but couldn't see a broken bulb, but it's hard to make it out when looking straight at the lights.
Left higher than right it is a feature. Usually not observable on normal bulbs much sharper with LEDs
Light pattern is the same as all other cars. Just more defined with LED.

There is one place where my MY speeds up when cruise control is on, moving from 100 to 120. It's happened to me about 3 times. All the same location. A bit disconcerting as it is when merging onto the motorway. I reckon there is a setting to prevent that, but I haven't got round to looking
The missus is really missing the parking sensors that's on her 10yo Skoda.
Did anyone install any aftermarket parking sensors?

That Halfords type of aftermarket set up are very basic. Ok to gauge distance back to a flat wall say but not much use otherwise, look a touch naff too. On a 50K car, Iβd be inclined to consider a more professional install from someone like ICE in Ranelagh. They do a lot of work for main dealers on brand new cars.

is it just me or is the size of the car hard to judge in tight underground car parks? Particularly when entering and exiting? Very deceiving
USS sensors and/(or) Tesla vision are just aids and not substitutes for driver control. I have had both (and yes I prefer USS) but I don't understand why people get so obsessed about this. The rear camera on Teslas is excellent. Adding additional sensors would not be on my list .... but each to their own.
In a nutshell...coddled drivers.
No substitute whatsoever for knowing your car's dimensions.
It's the front I have my main concern with. I agree the camera in the back is fine. They really should have put a "nose" camera though when they were removing USS.
It's one of those things that you get very used to. With small parking spots and larger cars, every aid helps
A Model Y is quite a wide car and not particularly suited to a standard Irish car park space.
The way mine seems to work is if you have it set to follow the speed limits it will adjust down to lower speed limits but will only go up to the highest you had it set to.
For example:
Set it in an 80 zone, and then enter a 100, it will stay at 80.
Set it in a 100 zone, and enter an 80 zone and it'll drop to 80, if you go back into a 100, it will go back to 100.
I've often been doing say 84kmph in an 80 zone and autopilot will go down to 80, then when I go into a 100 zone, autopilot will default to a max speed of 84. It will go down in speed, but needs user input to go up to above what you set it at. The most annoying thing about it is on a road near me, where the speed limit is 100, there's a no-left turn sign that the car sometimes mistakes as a 70. Autopilot will default to 70 until I pass another 100 sign.
Is the Model Y speedo GPS based on just have finer margins than some other cars? In our last car, 124 on the speedo was 120 on the GPS.
But in the MY, 121 is enough.
I doubt if it is any way connected with GPS, it just appears to be more accurate than most.
My Mil is always giving out that cars are trying to pass her when she is driving at the speed limit. I tried to explain to her that her Toyota over reads by about 6 km/h across the board, but she says that she has no intention of breaking the speed limit..π

Heading off around Europe at the end of next week and looking for a sunshade for the Model Y.
Looking for something to block out as much heat as possible, I don't really care what it looks like.
The official Tesla one looks like a mesh that will still let quite a bit of light/heat through.
Most of the ones I can see on Amazon have pretty mixed reviews, maybe none of them are that effective?

This is not correct, everyone had a test drive but the purchase contract was done online. They are talking out of their ass. Quote distance selling regulations and if they still do not move then let them know a complaint is being filed with consumer rights and they maybe fined. If they still refuse then raise a chargeback as in EU they have to abide by distance selling regulations - the test drive has nothing to do with it!
Also the cars with USS tell you to STOP at 30cm. The same distance as TV.
I think itβs the audio chime people miss the most.
OK, my Model Y doesn't do this. It just ignores speed signs. It sees them as it shows correctly in the display, but it never adjusts speed. Is there a setting I missed to enable this?
