The likes of HBO in America creating brilliant written comedy work that satirically rips the piss out of dysfunctional, egotistical, cringelords such as "The Righteous Gemstones" and all this time, all that RTE just had to do was literally record themselves and the "talent" going about their own cringey business.

Just an observation, but we’re a small enough island with not really much to pick for as regards talent. Who do people think should be running the show as regards radio and tv in Ireland? I mean, are there really folks out there with the talent that are being denied their chance?
I know a guy very well who is Ireland's best radio DJ. Years ago he started on pirate radio alongside Dave Fanning and they both went for interview in RTE to be jocks on 2FM.
My friend never got the job because Dave Fanning had went to Blackrock College and that meant he got the job. My friend now has a radio show on a Dublin station and he is 1000 times the DJ Dave Fanning is.
For years real talent has never had the chance on RTE and the only chance any talent may get a chance is if they have NKM as an agent.

You could definitely argue RTE is a bit low on younger talent at the moment. Gay Byrne was presenting the Late Late Show in his twenties, Terry Wogan was famous at the same age.
Even Claire Byrne, who you might think is one of their younger presenters, is pushing 50.

The super talented “jock” who could have made it but ended up working on some pirate station with 5 listeners is a very common “poor me” story. The great undiscovered diamond of broadcasting who now works as a van driver.
