There seems to be confusion as to whether or not he is out of contract. I think he said he wasn't although RTE had said he was.
He's out of contract. A verbal agreement to discuss a new one is not a new contract. Its past time someone in RTE told Tubridy to take a hike.
RTE are claiming that his tv contract ended when he quit TLLS and they were currently negotiating his radio contract but now those negotiations have been paused since this debacle became public. The man who should never have been given a role within RTE now (hopefully) has no contract with rte!

I've come to the conclusion that so long as agents like NKM have anything to do with RTE or public service broadcasting I won't be paying my licence fee. An agent free public service broadcaster is the bare minimum required.

Then when he stepped away from the LLS, they were in negotiations as regards the contract re the radio show. That negotiation was then paused when the excrement hit the fan.
Isn't greed a truly terrible thing really. That is all I keep thinking. He was already on a salary that was like a lotto win and wanted more. Greedy beyond words.
Firstly NKM was able to become dominant within RTE simply because RTE allowed the stupid belief that Tubridy or any of the others represented by NKM were stars that would be snapped up by the opposition to RTE's commercial peril. I can't think of one of the "stars" represented by NKM who is someone I'd miss if I never saw them again!
Secondly, I don't really care whether you pay your licence or not but if you stop paying then you also surely forefit the right to have a say about how it operates?
She is the type that won't take any shite!

When he was pushed he looked shocked and said it was a private matter, and TBF he's a salaried employee of RTE, not one of the 'Top Talent' who know their earnings will be made public (as do TD's) so obviously surprised they could ask him that with not even a nod to GDPR personal data privacy rules.
Maybe he just didn't want neighbours knowing what he earns but the whole country knows now, well at least what his 'base' and car allowance is. And if he had just answered striaght, nobody would be talking about it.

One where people are given jobs for their connections and not for their qualifications or quality of work? One where a person could, let us say, walk from one job into another using only their connections, and more or less hand their old job over to somebody based purely on which party their family ties could be affiliated with, for example?
