Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

It will probably be picked by Simon Coveney!
Probably working from home, didn't Emma o Kelly say that at the NUJ meeting last week her colleagues were crying on the zoom calls. Maybe they need to organise protest marches through zoom calls now aswell
Good. The whole 7 month investigation that Martin was on about was a nonsense. Typical government delay tactic. She is still working on the terms of reference. Send in an auditor now and get to the bottom of it before they hide the evidence. Imagine how the Americans would handle it.
If RT is blameless why did he issue a second statement where he apologised?
It appears you are either taking the piss or have no idea what a union protest is.
Were you giving your considered, well thought out views based on facts when you claimed Tubs’ brother was doxxed, despite not knowing what doxxed is?
Surely the best deal for their client should also be one that won't come back to bite him in the ass and have him Public Enemy Number 1 in RTE and Ireland.
Via Rory.
It’s hilarious that tubs is involved because the whole fiasco is old Fianna Fáil shtyle 😂😂
Dynamite if true:

The Irish Mail on Sunday reporting tomorrow that the Government plans to split RTE in two. 2FM to be sold off, salaries will be peaked at €176,000 and that Ryan Tubridy will be asked to hand back €345,000. The re-structuring of RTE will see 400 redundancies."
Regards...jmcc
This is more fundamental reform that's needed for RTE.
I don't see a need for RTE 2 at this stage either. Nobody watches it apart from the odd time sport is on. Those sporting events could be shown on RTE 1 or given to Virgin Media to broadcast.
If that is true, I will be so happy as will countless others.
If 2FM is sold off bye bye Lottie.
If salaries are cut to 176 k , Joe Duffy will surely move to NBC and Claire Byrne will be off to ITV.
Haven't read the article but it would make sense to split 2RN from RTE as the problems are mainly with the "talent" side of things. 2RN handles all the broadcast and Saorview networks. 2FM has been loss-making for years. Not sure about RTE2.
What a pile of sh1te. For starters they won't be able to cut the wages of any employee earning over €176,000. Unions wouldn't allow it. They can ask Tubs for money back but he won't have to give it back.
The redundancy part might be possible. Unlikely though.
But who will be the 400 and will Netflix make a series about them?
Kind of explains the Sindo front page story, doesn't it? Which Sindo star will get a paycut if that goes through?
Yeah none of it sounds plausible, unless of course they don’t renew all the talent contracts:)
The headline writes itself: "Bonfire for the vanities". :)
Again as has been stated before you don't know what doxxing is.
Somebody tried to doxx me on here earlier this year but they did not succeed, so naturally I will know what is and what is not doxxing.
Plenty of people on that kind of money are employees, and not contractors like Tubs.
I wonder how many are on more than €176,000?
I read that as 2RN at first and thought great
Pay cut to 176k, oh you don't want it but sorry you're job is now redundant, though I'm sceptical of the article
If there is a sell-off and breakup, hopefully it will be better done than the privatisation of Eircom. There is a need for a public service broadcaster but the broadcast network, operated by 2RN, is critical national infrastructure. The morons in FF/PDs privatised all of Eircom including the critical national infrastructure (the Eircom network) and it was successively plundered and the roll-out of broadband was set back by at least five years. The management then sold off Eircell (the mobile phone company) at the bottom of the market. These clowns shouldn't even have been in charge of a box of Lego let alone the state telco. The break-up of RTE, if it happens, could go very badly wrong.
Are viewers really going to tolerate Six-One running late on account of extra time in a match or the time at which a World Cup or Euro (insert year) soccer match is played in a foreign country?
The World Cup and so on could be shared or given over completely to Virgin Media to broadcast.
Sunday Times claims that RTE bosses knew about Tubridy payments three years ago:
Turn it into an Irish Sport and Irish Arts only station.
"One hundred and nineteen staff members at RTÉ last year earned in excess of €100,000 in basic salary.
22 earned between €150,000 and €250,000
the remaining 97 earned between €100,000 and €150,000"
