So it was RTE who were paying.
And RT knew this cos he signed the contract and knew he wasnt doing anything for Renault. A contract he forced RTE to sign - unless you somehow are deluded enough to think RTE decided to engage in under the counter payments out of the goodness of their heart while cutting back elsewhere.
So knew the declared figure was was wrong.
Which is why the public poll and RTs statement show you are in the wrong here wrt to public perception of this.
You have therefore zero basis to make blanket statements without qualification eg Tubridy did nothing wrong.
There’s huge anger out there against Tubridy, his agent and the RTE management in general.
Ppl have sympathy for the “ordinary” staff of RTÉ.
No-one is buying his "I hate Tubridy but he's innocent" line.

Actually from 2017 to 2022 his off the books salary increased. Obviously his reported decreased. And he rightly admits he should have flagged this.
