Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Do you agree with RT or do you think he was lying?
Simple question.
Yet you don't think he did anything wrong,
ok, good for you.
RT stated he should have got clarification on it.
I don't know if he's lying or not.
It's MY opinion that he had no need to.
It's MY opinion RTE should have disclosed the correct figures in the first place.
I take it from this there's no need for you to ask this of me again.
Is that from the horse’s mouth?
Kevin Barkhurst shouldnt be taking over either.
Disolve rte now. Rebuild.
I believe he stated he should have got clarification in the statement he released.
Not far off I'd say.
The level of incompetence shown at the PAC is non repairable IMHO
Just you wait until they do a poll on consumer legislation, let's see the sofa retailers weasel their way out of that one!
The nuances of this story are complicated, quite possibly above the heads of a lot of people. Most polled people I would say are RTE 1 listeners and fans of Tubridy, ie those with time on their hands, retired, work from home, etc etc.
How the majority can exonerate Tubridy is beyond me, if they understood the full story. This grubby little exercise in money grabbing came from his corner, was pursued by his corner, and led to someone in his corner submitting a false invoice. Make of that what you will.
It honestly sounds like everyone polled read Tubridys second statement, accepted it at face value and ignored everything else.
So you disagree with Tubridys own statement of what his conduct should have been.
You disagree with 75 percent of the public as per the poll findings.
It is your opinion, a minority one at that, contradicted by RTs public statement.
I will remind you of this next time you make claims about RTs conduct in this.
The majority are against RT too. His hands are dirty
Was that the first statement he released, or the second one? They were quite different, you might recall. Almost as if they’’d been written by different people
and the fact the smug little person is on the airways at all is because of nepotism, because in media land he is aristocracy, all these little people control the agenda as he showed this morning
Donnybroke
I don't think I was under any illusion of what the general public would think about this and have stated it here many times.
I don't need the general public to tell me what my opinion is. I make that up myself.
RT and I disagree on most things. This is just another one.
It doesn't have any impact on my opinion of the situation though.
In any case, he couldn't of corrected the public figures, because the "underhand" payments would of been exposed and he knew that would of ruined him.
Let's go with all of it, and see your answer first. Then maybe we can look at how you know RTE decided to do it in an underhanded way, and that it wasn't the brainchild of NK.
Not really the same thing. I didn't say he was tough. I said ruthless, but what I meant was, I believe it would be called blackmail.
Negotiating using other clients as the bartering tool isn't really negotiating, but the fact that he was able to is just as bad. He would not have been able to act the way he did with any other company on this planet. He walked into RTE in the 80's realised from the inside how badly run it was and that it was ripe for the picking. That puts him in the right place at the right time. I am sure when he started signing up all the stars without an agent, and then started negotiating, it just got easier from there. But none of it makes him a good negotiator. In fact I would argue that the reason it got so skewed is because he is so bad at it.
If RTE declared them correctly. He wouldn't have had to get any clarification.
We can do this all day.
Feel free to watch

It's all covered here.
When a union is having a protest it is only for union members. The union don't want to give free protest when you aren't paying them dues. Also a union have some protection in relation to protest and strikes. But a non union member just can't go leave there job protest or strike or they will get reprimanded
If RTE declared them correctly it would of been obvious he hadn't taken the same pay cuts as the other top 10 earners, which also have been damaging to RT.
So disgusted, ofended etc but too worried about thier own self interest to do anything about it
No back bone in this RTE place at all.
Base salary: X includes cut.
Side line corperate Renault gigs: X
Whats the problem? He did more work. He got paid more.
Is this not normally how this works?
With Twitter on the blink, we need to rely on boards for updates.
Welp on to your next argument to show people love RT and its a few woke rebels only here on boards
Any time I see him he reminds of the Liam Lawler, Phil Hogan type...y'know, lovely
He painted himself into a corner where even if he wanted to set the record straight, he couldn't.
He and/or his agent also didn't set the record straight on the invoice.
Nope at every turn they were content to let the deceit run and run. No interest in telling the truth whatsoever.
Do you have skin in the game?
you have continued to defend RT and blame RTE.
