Where did you get that information if you do not mind me asking, or is that just how you believe it went?
The version I believe is that RT/NK during contract negotiations, kept threatening to leave the station when it wasn't going their way.
Then other NKM clients were brought into those negotiations. There is no question that RTE found it hard to negotiate with NK, but it wasn't because he is an excellent negotiator. He is ruthless, and has no problem using other clients in negotiations.
One of Dee Forbes first tasks was to negotiate Tubs contract under those circumstances, and she was aware Tubs was considered one of RTE's prize presenters by those in RTE. She was between a rock and a hard place, and those around her were no help. She wasn't great herself. NK is finished with RTE once the current contracts are finished. RT is finished with RTE as of now. As CEO of his own company that signed off on that contract, he has nothing to come back with, and nor should anyone care.
It means we may finally get some real talent into the RTE studios, get rid of the milkers and hangers-on and maybe even see a reduction in the licence fee 🤣.
RT has made his grubby greedy bed, and now he can lie in it. It looks like NK's daughters foray into celebritydom is on the back burner for now.
If RT is brought back after this, there would be uproar, and rightly so. It looks like he will be able to start on the nerdy projects, books, documentaries and history a little earlier than expected.

There was a contract in place where the contract was to be paid service provided or not
RTE requested it to fulfill contract.
It's no NK's responsibility to smell anything.
A company oued his client money.
The company requested an invoice be sent.
He sent it.
RTE advised on what to put on the invoice.

He presents his work for 7 hours per week approximately. How much background work as regards preparation I don’t know. But he absolutely has to prepare. The finished product is 7 hours per week.

I have spoken to someone about this aspect of his arrangement with RTÉ. I think he will find that his hours will present a major problem for him if he tries to go down that road. He “works” 5 hours a week for most of his working year. This increased to approx 7-8 (let’s be generous and say 10) during LLS season. He also takes approx 3 months off per year. He’s not for example an IT contractor working 40 hours a week for years but never taken on full time.
His reputation is in tatters because of pure, unadulterated greed. If he thinks suing the state broadcaster who has made him rich beyond the dreams of 98% of the population then he’s being even more badly advised than when he put out his defiant first statement last week.
The barter account is essentially a client bank account held by a third party on behalf of RTE.
barter company sold advertising on behalf of RTE, it logged money into a barter account on behalf of RTE.
rte could cash out 50% of all monies at an effective rate of 65 cents on the euro, it also could charge invoices to account again on a 65 cents rate.
so if 100k of adverts sold by barter RTE could cash out 32.5k ( 50k x .65) and if could charge 32.5k of invoices to the barter account.
the barter company would pay out in cash and invoices of total of €65k and keep the remaining 35k as it’s commission for selling 100k of adverts.
