Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

We're not talking about legality or criminality here. If RT knew he was getting partially paid through a somewhat dodgy or unconventional method (perhaps with the intention to deliberately deceive everyone), then he has a big problem on his hands.
So when it's grubby and tainted and designed to deceive - RTE BAD.
When Noel Kelly engages in it - Noel Kelly GOOD! Tubs EVEN BETTER!
Can't wait until you repost later that RTE started it again by approaching Renault.
As stated. It's not RT or NK's business how RTE pay them.
That's RTE's problem.
Probably the sample for the poll was taken from foxrock and blackrock.
And they conveniently forgot to ask to question... does Tubridy share some of the blame.
NK doing his job is not a problem
Where are they getting the claim that the public want to forgive Tubridy from? The only mention of the word forgive I can see is in the headline and just because the majority blame RTÉ doesn't mean that people think Tubridy should be forgiven.
That Sunday Independent poll is bang on the money.
The board and executive ultimately failed in their responsibilities. RT for his part has been found out as being a sneaky human. Legally he's done nothing wrong but the board however........
You're once again deliberately ignoring the fact that NK approached RTE BEFORE RTE approached Renault. It's been stated frequently in response to your posts.
It's also conveniently available for you in the recordings you mention above, perhaps you could watch it again and check for yourself?
The question that is up for debate is who suggested the use of the barter account - Geraldine O'Leary can't recall if it was Noel Kelly or Dee Forbes. She's positive it wasn't herself though.
Talked some poor local, that all the D4's are pricing out of the area, into buying no doubt. Forgot the wallet.
RT/NK knew the payments were underhanded and were not being disclosed to the public or the Oireachtas. This is where all the problems lie for them.
Lol.
Sure, that's why he'll be asked to appear before the PAC next week. And if he declines the invite, he'l be compelled to attend.
There's a lot of people being asked to attend PAC hearings for "nothing".
NKM has some serious sway in Irish media. Very worrying actually.
Nobody i have spoken to believes Tubridy should be back on tv.
I remember reading a piece in The Phoenix about O'Connor. They couldn't believe how much money he was on between all the jobs he had. Editor of a major paper too. He is very network savvy. Married into the Caden's. John Caden was a radio/tv producer. Produced the late late show during Gay's time. O'Connor is swimming in all the money that's going. Big Fianna Fail man, like Caden. Caden was one of the men who made sure SF candidates never got on TV. O'Connor is pro-Bertie.
A real nasty piece of work too. Would do anything for ratings or a book. To quote the phoenix: 'O'Connor appeared to believe that jokes and jibes in the Sindo about the elderly, Romanians, travellers, environmentalists, anti-war protesters and Republicans as well as individuals who were perceived as disrespectful to the newspaper, amounts to comic relief.'
In early 2004, O'Connor enraged some of his colleagues by strongly supporting management during an industrial relations crisis over forced redundancy.
In July 2007, O'Connor penned what became his most notorious article, "The smart, ballsy guys are buying up property right now", advising his readers to invest in property, saying that "... the really smart and ballsy guys are the guys who are buying when no one else is... " and, ".... if I wasn't already massively over-exposed to the property market by virtue of owning a reasonable home, I'd be buying property...".
Also in January 2010, O'Connor castigated a journalist who brought up the subject of his July 2007 "ballsy" article during an interview. O'Connor claimed that the article contained valid opinions originating from original thinking. The journalist related in his article how O’Connor became angry, and didn't let him speak, with O'Connor claiming, “… I came here and opened up out of respect. And you know why? Because I believe in freedom of speech. Anyone else would have said 'I'm not sitting down with that c**t'. Seriously they would. You went away and found a piece in Google and harangued me on this one piece I wrote in 15 years of writing... Look, I've no wish to airbrush over anything I've written in the past," he says. "But do I regret it? No, because it was valid position at the time. So yes I got it wrong in one article..."
Here's the article here: 'Anyone can be like Fintan O'Toole and follow the consensus: be for the poor and against the rich' (archive.ph)
Every professional broadcaster aspires to work for RTE. That's a fact. Commercial stations don't hold the same - what would you call it - allure or appeal, not least in the area of pay and opportunities. Dempsey jumped ship before he was pushed. There was no longer a job available for him or, at least, not the promotion and commensurate salary increase he was seeking. He may be a big dog at Today FM but was pretty small fry at RTE - lowly regarded.
Pat Kenny made the move to the commercial sector simply because his time at RTE had run it's natural course. His entire career to that point, forty years, had been spent at RTE and he had proven himself to be a highly capable and widely respected broadcaster in several different fields.
O'Rourke would not be capable of filling the roles Kenny has done throughout his now fifty year long career in broadcasting so the €950k wedge was fully merited in my view. Kenny was worth about twenty Byrne's, Duffy's and Tubridy's combined and still is. O'Rourke, in fairness, is an excellent political journalist and good at conducting the cosy, folksy type of interviews he's doing on that podcast thing he's doing at the moment but that's about it. His true medium is in print.
Actually that would be the best of craic. The public deserves a laugh.
Tubridy's should be made come into work Monday........
Seen how long he'd last
RT/NK were fully aware of that underhand deal, they were a party to it. Yes, RTE should have told them where to go, but RT/NK should never of agreed to the deal either. They were complicated in their own downfall. They agreed to something that if exposed would ruin them and it was exposed.
NK colluded in the underhand scheme by sending in false invoices for 'consultancy services'. He colluded in a scheme to defraud taxpayers and to shield the payments from proper scrutiny.
So the agent didn't "do his job" and look after his client did he?
Because the client's career is severely damaged if not ended.
You're not doing your job if you collude in an under the counter grubby little scheme to get money for your client - which will end up costing the client far more in the long run.
Great job NK Management!
Noted you have run away about half a dozen times now from the questions put to you about Tubridy's statement last Friday.
You seem to disgree but it is relevant to point out the man himself contradicts you.
Or maybe you think he is lying?
Your continual lack of a response is damming.
Either way, by action and inaction, lies of omission and commission he has put himself between frying pan and fire where any answer he gives about this grubby stroke damages his career.
I want evidence for
"So RT/NK asks for a wage increase (nothing wrong here)"
If I worked for RTE I wouldn't want nearly everyone who attended the PAC fired.
Oh wait..
All PAC meetings are recorded.
Please watch them back.
Head of coperate states she went to Renault.
We know the barter account was used because they stated it.
The earnings are posted in many posts.
What do you want evidence of?
So you keep saying, except the Government had nothing to do with this scandal.
They knew about this in early March and they could have made sure it came out then, taking attention away from Niall Collins.
With so many repeats you've gotta work for RTE.
Evidence of the same
Are you going to ignore all the times this was already explained to you and just repeat your disingenuous dismissals all over again?
There is a word for that.
if tubridy did launch a podcast - he would soon realise he is not mr popular and is in fact widely disliked/seen as a pariah in this country
his core fans seem to be easily fooled, naive old biddies who have been taken in by his well spoken “young fogey” bs - and gullible people with a range of borderline mental health issues.
So RT/NK asks for a wage increase (nothing wrong here)
RTE decide to do it an underhanded way (RTE in the wrong)
RTE failed to disclose earnings (RTE in the wrong)
Sorry whats your point again?
Thats like saying it is odd that more women started speaking out after a high profile case of sexual assault was brought against Weinstein.
Whistleblowers giving others in the group confidence to voice their own concerns has been a thing since men lived in caves.
An agent doing his job.
Nothing to see here.
