Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Not bought - just swapped for advertising slots sold to the Astus UK barter exchange company. No cash. No bank transactions, just a fee to the broker who organised the deal/swap. No cash on the rugby company side either - they sold the tickets to Astus UK who swapped them for the rte advertising slots.
If the CFO was such a Wizard why did he leave Dunne's, did Margaret not pay him enough? 200k + 25k in RTE is not excessive and but Dunnes is a far bigger private sector company with deep pockets. I wonder if he took a pay cut to work in RTE, for a better quality of life.
The problem with Anton presenting a current affairs programme is that he is still a director of The Communications Clinic. So we have no way of knowing if a client of his is a party to a story he's covering, unless he declares an interest. Conflicts of interest must be a regular occurrence for him.
Leaving to go where?
Maybe they could get Andrea Corr onto the commitee to entice Ryan in, she did a great interview with him on the last Late Late show 😊
It says much about the weakness and poor governance in RTE that they haven't cut ties to Tubridy and still continue to pay him. Still treated like a God after all that's happened with no-one willing to pull the plug on his RTE career.
You convienently left out the first part.
RT approached RTE and said increase my wages or else.
RT then demanded RTE underwrite it.
When Renault pulled out, RT demanded payments continue.
RTE pay hundreds of thousands to top stars, and still got monkeys.
The problem is that the going rate in rte seems to far exceeded the market rate. If a presenter there is on 150k and rte turn around and say nope, not anymore, where are these people going to go? At this stage, and this is across the board, rte competes only with itself.
I can only imagine Tubridy now, sitting at home, blinds closed, watching The West Wing for the 2 millionth time for inspiration.
He is done at RTE. None of the other Irish stations will touch him. He'll probably give Podcasts a go but his support base is mostly rural aul-wans that wouldn't know where the podcast button is on the radio. He is still Official-Ireland, so he'll get a shady corporate sponsor.
Renault didn't pull out, they weren't approached to renew the arrangement since due to covid, they RT hadn't fulfilled the engagements promised.
I think he's 100 percent done for at least 5 years. He will make an attempted come back though. Probably on virgin and they will pay him buttons for 5 or 6 shows.
Maybe he's a smart little wizard just waiting - CFO's don't hang themselves but why he doesn't come clean and explain how everything was managed is beyond belief. Hard to see how a CFO in a publicly funded organisation that's bound by normal business regulations plus the public service scrutiny could sign off on dodgy financial statements without repercussions so there must be more to this mess. Interesting to see what the auditors report for 2022 will have to say when the accounts are finally published.
I didn’t say he approached them suggesting they use a slush fund, I never mentioned slush fund in my post. I would appreciate if you didn’t misrepresent what I said and try to put words in my mouth so to speak.
I said he (Kelly) approached them (RTÉ) first on finding creative ways to top up Tubridy’s salary - an altogether different statement. This was stated repeatedly during the PAC hearings.
Who exactly suggested the use of the barter account is a matter of dispute - Geraldine O’Leary said she can’t recall if it was Kelly or Forbes who suggested this.
Did Dee Forbes not say in her statement that she suggested using the Barter Account as it was in credit ?
Dee Forbes also saying accounts and legal had given assurances .
RTE approached Renault AFTER Noel Kelly approached RTÉ.
it’s not that difficult really.
I winder who's picking up the bill for the cake and ice-cream!
Now imagine that the furniture shops slogan was "The Truth matters".
The gravy train in rte is what is unsustainable. Let them address that...
Yes I agree but alot of people are happy to see RTE get a taste of their own medicine. They were the ones that were throwing petrol and fanning the flames of other controversies and witch hunts down through the years
Theres a few of us who’ve been discussing NKM’s extraordinary influence over RTÉ in particular over the years. We’ve all come under attack for doing so.
It’s frankly unbelievable that supposedly unconnected members of the public - a public who until a few days ago the vast majority of had never heard of Noel Kelly or NKM - came together on boards in an organized manner to attack, bully, and attempt to silence anyone who spoke out about this agent and his agency.
It was as bonkers and incredulous then as it is intriguingly delicious now for those of who have pointed out what was hiding in plain sight for so long to be proven correct.
Just in. Footage of NK, RT, and DF playing with tax payer's money:
Ok so following that logic some OTHER account must have paid for the tickets?
After all they had to be paid for with money yes?
So IF another account was used to pay for the tickets then it was in the control of the finance unit in RTE because the Barter account was the ONLY account NOT in the finance units control.
OR (as is possible here) there is ANOTHER (undeclared to PAC) account outside the finance unit that was used to pay for the tickets....
Garrett Tubridy probably gave the rugby tickets to RTE to support his brother through his financial hardship. 🤭
Anyone know who were the beneficiaries of the Rugby tickets, Football tickets and trips to the Champions League Final and wined and dined at our expense?
Am I right in thinking all unsold expiring advertising slots would be placed with the barter company to sell at whatever they could get for them and then barter company charge their 35 percent on.
That being the case, rte most likely viewed this as free money as the alternative would be to allow slots go unsold.
I can see that the barter company is a valid tool in running of rte but not the manner it was used.
I suppose the main question that needs asking is whether there was sufficient funds produced by the barter system via the normal running of rte to cover all these dodgy payments or whether an increased portion of advertising was needlessly sold via barter company to ensure slush funds remained healthy. The scandal in that would be that the dodgy payments would then be costing far in excess of the actual value due to possibly selling advertising at reduced rates and also the barter fee payable.
No cash paid - settled with trade credits (offsets/contras). I had the wrong idea about the barter account, it's a barter COMPANY who buy ad slots from RTE, buy tickets from IRFU etc then ad slots are exchanged/swapped for tickets and other stuff.

You could hardly make this stuff up.
The Cork native confirmed this week that his pay is €245,004
For 4 hours per week on air
Just out of interest, how many weekends does he do, that's crazy money
