Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

“The odd time?” Some people on this very site were so fixated on slating Tubridy every single day that they should have been paid for it. Calling him “Icabod” and slagging his appearance. Every day. For years.
Ah, you must be connected. Or spelling Garrett, Garet.
His travel expenses won't be after tax. They'll be paid by his company, and deducted from his pre tax income.
According to one twitter today RTÉ people are slowly deleting their LinkedIN profiles.
Sadly not I never heard of him until 2 days ago when he was mentioned on here.
Yes and Tubridy was all over this aswell, RTE went completely overboard on all the Covid stuff well except for ahem their own non socially distance party in the middle of it all. The "climate crises" is just another goto topic for them to over indulge in while pushing other news worthy stories off the schedule
Unfortunately, that has a long history in the non-specialist media (legacy media). Most technology journalists have no background in Technology or the business of Technology. However, that said, there are some good ones. It also gets back to the press release recycling problem in the media that was mentioned upthread. It is cheaper for a publisher to recycle a press release than it is to pay specialist journalists to write articles. The logical outcome of this is that many entry-level journalist positions are now being replaced by software that summarises press releases and content from other publications. Even RTE's news from other broadcasters contains a disclaimer on some articles that the articles have been translated from other languages using AI enhanced translation.

My point still stands that people in every profession receive abuse every day of the week and they just get on with it.
Tubs had a big ordeal of some teenager calling him a name in public and sharing it on social media.
Garda, Nurses, Dr, Teachers get spit on, assaulted, emergency vehicles have things thrown at them.
Then there's Tubs sitting at home playing the victim and taking people for mugs with his big bank balance.
I'm not hating on Tubridy at all. I've been moaning on this site about the absurdity of how much RTE have been paying the "talent" since 2007. This is just a continuation of it.
Truth and transparency.
Are you a member of LinkedIn?
For the record, I’ve never once called him by that name. Or the correct spelling, “Ichabod”.
The moniker is I suspect in reference to his height and build. I’m appreciably and significantly taller than Tubridy, I would be the last person to highlight anyone’s height when describing them.
Nope I am not.
Not addressed at me, but --
I don't think there's a conspiracy out there, but I think it's a scandal that a lot of Leinster House are far from sad about - every politician from across the spectrum has been more than willing to give their two cents on the RTE situation for the last week, it's been a handy few days for all of them in the media - and every politician likes to talk about something - anything - being someone else's fault.
When that story was “leaked” to the tabloid however that teenager (I’d personally say he was in the 10-14 range so quite possibly not even a teen) morphed into a 20-Something muscle bound tattooed buite. Unfortunately for Tubs however the child/teenager had recorded the encounter on his phone and posted it to Tik Tok…..
But we never got a retraction or a correction on that……..
Still there.
I wonder the same about Tubridy.
Did it never cross his mind that the whole thing could one day blow up in his face? Spectacularly.
Personally, I would prefer to have my good name and my integrity than all the money he has, that's for sure.
Yes I am a member of Linkedin, I had thought you were wondering if I worked for Linkedin.
NKM quickly changed the narrative but quickly got caught out.
I agree with your post on many levels, and I’ve been very critical of our current Govt.
However, that post was - like many on here - nothing to do with the parties involved in this issue, and designed to deflect attention away from Tubridy and Noel Kelly. I’m sure you can objectively agree with that?
True, but RTE did put themselves in this postion.
You have seven mutuals. Probably why you're in the loop.
To say the scandal is "convenient for the coalition" isn't too outrageous, just taken on its own merits as a statement, IMO - I kind of agree with it in one sense, it does provide handy oul soundbite opportunities for any TD/Senator that fancies it at the moment and all other political stories over the last week have been comparatively non-existent. There's definitely been more difficult weeks to be a politician.
I honestly think the poster in question is just - very effectively and consistently - on the wind up and I wouldn't be getting too bothered about it.
As did NKM and RT.
Yes, very much so.
Not sure if this has been posted.
All there sides are equally to blame.
I don’t disagree it’s not a convenient distraction for the Govt.
But to say they’re behind it and it’s a conspiracy is, well…”bonkers”.
Why can't someone like Emma O'Kelly or Shortt be the new DG? Why is it an Oxbridge head like Bakhurst? Haven't we all witnessed how the conservative elite of Oxbridge and their governance has destroyed the UK?
Because someone like O'Kelly or Shortt will do a root and branch clearance of all the deadwood. Something RTE does not want to happen.
