They requested extra payments. RTE suggested a tripartate scheme. They said, yeh whatever, we don't care, just give us our money, or words to that effect. They more than likely asked what happens if Renault pulls out, Forbes said we'll give you the money from RTE's pockets and they again said yeh whatever just give us the money, or words to that effect.
They were as complicit in concocting this scheme as Forbes and others who knew. They knew Renault was involved, the knew if Renault pulled out, RTE would pay. They knew it was concealed from the public that RTE were giving Tubridy 75k more than declared. They knew. And as you said, they didn't care.

On another point I see being brought up and posters saying that Dee Forbes has been thrown under the bus. If I was her and I was innocent, no matter how sick I was, i'd drag myself into the PAC conference to tell them I was innocent and how i was being blamed in the wrong.
Anyone with any sort of legal background would not say that, there is no sign of the DPP or any Criminal Prosecutions - which is the whole reason why there are these Oireachtas Committee's a much lower burden of proof, aimed to be more fact finding in nature, rather than prosecutorial.
That is just the reality of it, I know it can be very exciting to think that high profile people could be 'taken down' but to that it would have be beyond a reasonable doubt - which is an entirely different arena.

Apparently, this is called a false/ghost invoice. And one of the reasons for its appeal is it can be taken out in cash and become undocumented. Avoids tax. Laundered.

It's not enough at this stage to ask RTE for the transactions on the account. They can be hidden. As a result, they're giving them time to hide things. They're computers/accounts should be taken.

Lots of the staff on more than €100k are people you've never heard off, behind the scenes management. Assuming that fairly junior reporter, probably not even in their top 10 reporters would top €100k has no basis.

From what RTE were saying the coperate sideline gigs that RTE came up with to increase his income is not in relation to his base Radio/TV contract.
So whatever way you look at it. His salary for the work his contract that the fuigures were published for was cut.

By Jaysis - if I was up above in front of the PAC - I wouldn’t give them a straight answer to any question and I would turn the tables on them and ask them tough questions about fixing roads, planning permission, tidy towns being growing flowers outside some important peoples houses

Doesn't matter if it was one or two contracts. The RTE reporting wasn't based on one contract, it was supposed to be for RTE full stop.
It was all through RTE, directly (if guaranteed by them) or indirectly (if through the barter account).
It was all part of his RTE remuneration.
It was previously reported that Tubridy's agent came up with the deal and suggested it to RTE on behalf of Tubridy. He is not as innocent as he is letting on; the idea that he was paid an extra €75,000 per annum and wasn't aware of it is preposterous, especially considering it has also came out that he continued to attend Renault Corporate Events which were also paid for or subsidized by RTE.
You honestly couldn't make up the levels of corruption between Tubridy and RTE. Whilst nothing as of yet has shown criminal intent I genuinely would not be surprised if the Garda Financial Crimes Unit does not get involved in the corruption at RTE as this is surely just the beginning of the corruption and due to the nature of RTE's financial backing through Public Funds it would seem logical for the GFCU to be involved at a later stage.

Ah come off it. RTE were paying him from day 1. Renault didn't pay a penny. The corporate gig thing was just one big cover for RTE paying him 75k more than advertised. And to really rub salt into the wounds of the taxpayer, RTE had to go one step further and organize gigs at a cost of 47k just to keep up the pretense of a Renault corporate gig. Its just shocking and disgraceful.
I would wish someone would tackle the politicians on what they have done. Remember all TD's in FF, FG and Greens voted confidence in Leo Varadkar after he had sent a confidential document to his mate and voted confidence in Simon Coveney after the Zappone fiasco. Nevermind the fact that Collins (or whatever name he goes by now) and English are still it the Dáil. The rot we see in RTE starts at the Top in government and drips down through the Civil and Public service. Sure if those at the top can get away with the others think the same.

Because yesterday in the PAC the head of corperate stated DF came to her to investigate it and try get a deal done. Not NK or RT.
The CFO said he was aware RTE were looking into avenues to increase RT's income. So it sounds like Renault was not the only avenue they looked at
