Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

Thankfully someone else sees it for what it is.
Nothing wrong was done
It becomes your business if you are complicit in structuring / instigating the deception, or an agent acting on your behalf does so in your name.
The I don't know where the money that pays my company comes from excuse won't really work.
Enjoy the holidays Ryan.
Not a snowball's chance in hell RT will go before the PAC. If I was advising him, I'd tell him to run a mile. Like Trump at a deposition, it can only go one way. Badly!
The Taoiseach doing a lot of pubtalk too.
Tbf the CFO did say yesterday "“…Maybe the taxpayer was defrauded.” - which isn't quite the same as saying the taxpayer was defrauded. There's a lot of ifs and maybe's but we don't have evidence of clear fraud... yet.
Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Complicit in engaging in a clandestine scheme that would not be revealed to the public for getting more money out of RTE. A scheme that was concealed from as many people as possible including auditors, chair of RTE board, the public and the current cfo.
This is why such a big deal is being of it.
You are right through, when Renault pulled out, that should have been the end of it.
Instead NK/Tubridy pursued Forbes for every last cent she committed in the verbal agreement. Suppose you think they are innocent there too?
I thought Carl Mullen was a rte employee but I noticed a few months ago he was on the nk list. Just stinks of high water if that’s what nk is doing. Promising more money to staff for same job as rte don’t need to pay pension etc for same person last week but pay someone else more money to get the same person to do the same job but you save on pension, holidays etc.
If I was revenue I’d be in on rte and nk and their agents going through everything. They can lie to pac and get away with it but they can’t lie to revenue and get away with it.
No that is not what the CFO said in proper context he clearly was pressured into giving the opinion of ‘fraud’. But as you know he is no legal authority.
Most of the words you have thrown out have been thrown out by people with no legal expertise. That is reality of it to be frank.
However, I do agree the optics look terrible. But that is all it has been thus far. Simple as that.
Do you know where your wages come from?
I haven't a clue I could be getting paid out of a dodgy slush fund every month I'd be none the wiser.
If you take it as a cooperate sideline that RTE created with Renault. Which is what it was originally. Why would you think it was coming from a slush fund?
RTE created the cooperate sideline
RTE guaranteed that that sideline would be funded regardless if the cooperate partner pulled out
Agent demands bobs.
RTE delivers.
RTE fails to deliver correct statement onw ages.
RTE at fault.
Sine arrogant ones too.
No it came from the RTE figures for total pay bill, if average salaries in RTE are circa 68,000, if 119 people are on between 100 and 250K and that's excluding the top10 like Tubridy. It's almost certain Emma O Kelly is one of those 119 being a high profile reporter on the news like all the rest of them
He didn’t have a good day at all. When asked his salary he should have been quick and firm.
It was stuttering that created the controversy and reaction.
the comment about defrauding was odd. It was said lamely and casually. Just odd
You mean the competitions where you dial a premium rate number,
One would need to be a halfwit to not get the correct answer. What sort of idiots call these numbers.
The CFO knew. Ex wizard from Dunnes stores. How did this get past him? (he should be next for the chop)
Why didn't he do anything about it?
DF knew why didn't she release it?
Head of cooperate knew.
Why didn't she do something about it?
Maybe all these very important folk been paid very high salaries thought it was grand?
That is only a minor failing though. Nothing in which he could be ‘got’ for legally. From what I see he put most of the blame on RTE internal governance which he made clear were nothing to do with him.
Ah right, its none of my business if my agent wants to ruin RTE with some off the books scheme, just so long as I get my 75k.
Thanks, you really are helping me understand how Tubs works.
Idiots who sometimes win money
gorm, I quoted last night which laws I believe were broken.
you can look up the laws yourself. Look up the law on putting false declarations of services provided on invoices. its pretty clearcut.
And the DG speaks for the country do they? You well know 'wrong' has many senses.
Of course he's done something 'wrong'. His conduct was dishonest and immoral. Look up 'wrong' in the dictionary. That's the standard people are holding him to. Not some amoral standard of if it is legal it isn't wrong.
So in saying he did something wrong, and we don't want to hear or see him again presenting, we're doing nothing wrong.
And in another meaning of the word wrong, Tubridy was wrong not to see the consequences of his actions, should the 'grubby little stroke' come to light. Even being selfish about it, he put short term greed above long term enlightened self interest.
He's responsible for his own failings, though
Did NK devise the scheme?
Did RT?
Because the head of cooperate in RTE said DF asked her to get it done.
Sounds like RTE want to ruin themselves.
RT can't force RTE to do anything they dont want.
Why can’t we just agree that legally (as of yet he did nothing wrong) but ethically and morally he did? Clears up a lot. And yes, I know morally and ethically is a bit more subjective than legally..
He said he'd done nothing illegal.
If you are referring to Collins, he's relatively new and the tripartate deal came before him.
The first he became aware of it is when the auditors raised it with him, he went to Forbes, she told him a big lie, the auditors went to her and she told another big lie. Then Grant Thornton were called in and she admitted the truth.
Ah yes because two parties can never both fail.
There's no logic to you assuming she's one of the 119. Anyway, what's it got to do with the price of a carton of milk?
In fact RT can and has forced RTE. He was told to take a pay cut and instead forced RTE to set up this dodgy transaction to keep him happy or he would leave
That is RT forcing RTE to meet his demands while having to give him a pay cut like everyone else
He also said yesterday he done nothing wrong.
That he was off the air for editorial reasons.
The institutions in this country are rotten to the very core.
The same shower are usually the ones instructing the population "it's all fine".
Big surprise.
I regularly take part in these competitions.
sometimes it is not easy so I ring in many times with a different answer each time.
I’m sure I’m not the only one out there using this clever tactic
