I wonder is there anything to stop you re-intering the body after you’ve bought the place? Following the Law obviously.
..
My niece bought a house that had belonged to an elderly lady who had died and decided to make some small changes at the back which involved digging up the existing small patio - just a couple of dozen slabs across the back of the house. At one stage in the digging they came across a patch of light grey material that looked a bit like ashes.
They were a bit mystified and asked the next door neighbour if they had any ideas. Oh yes, said the neighbour, when her husband died she wanted to have his ashes in the back garden, so she put them under the paving. I have seen a photograph of the evidence! I never did ask what, if anything, they did with them, presumably they just got raked into the soil.
Legally I don't know but morally I don't think I could.
Wonder is it an actual body or just ashes???
Weird either way I think.
and would you have people coming to pay respects or place flowers on the grave?
Fred and Rosemary West automatically spring to mind!
This is a beautiful restored Coastguard Station that I had to share, it's so well kept and in a stunning location. Want! I love to see older buildings like this still in use but with plenty of their old character still present. It still looks like a very comfortable home.
Stunning wouldn't be turning my nose up at that at all
Beautiful!!!!
Sorry if this isn't the correct thread but thought it might be of interest to some:

I recognise this from here.
If someone wants to turn their back garden into a shrine, well that's their choice, but that third picture above would give you nightmares, its like an Escher painting.
And if you dont fall from the ladder steps, then there is the second chance on the white unguarded staircase and failing that, third times a charm with the door opening onto the stairway down....
Had to just add this...
That's lovely.
A great find for the thread, very enjoyable to browse through the photos.
Oh my word, that's fabulous!!
I don't think I could live with the kitchen, as much as it looks like it's made with great craftmanship. But the rest of it.
In fact, if I could arrange for someone to deliver meals, I'd just live in the watchtower sitting room. Bliss!!
Fantastic find.
It also says part of the garden is currently leased from Leeds County Council, I wonder was that necessary for the burial?
I think that bed over the stairs in the first pic was featured here before.
This house seems to be way overpriced for what it is.
Layout and design seems to be awful, rooms look cold and unwelcoming, garden still needs to be done, driveway still needs to be done. They're having a laugh if they think they will get €995K for it. The only good thing seems to be its location.
As much as I hate that modern aesthetic, I think they'll get more for it.
It's a fine house in fairness but the way the cars are parked is annoying me for some reason.
It's very common to see big houses with no landscaping, garage/shed, unfinished driveway etc.
Agree about the layout, very odd. The entrance, hall, living room, sitting room, kitchen and dining area are all a single open plan area. There is no storage in the kitchen and dishes etc taken from the table to the kitchen have to be left on that central island with that tiny sink. Be an exhausting place to live.
Its half an hour from Dublin airport so the location is good, but it is an uninspiring looking house -ugly even - especially at that price
Agree. It feels cold inside but my main issue is the landscaping. Why would you want to live in the countryside with a decent size plot and only have a lawn?
I could understand if it was newly built but this one was built 5 years ago.
This is on C4 next Thursday - might be of interest to fans of this thread!!
Apparently not.
It's not sold yet though! Common enough to lower the price to get people in the door, after that you just need 2 bidders who really want it.
I think considering the current market, size of the plot and size and finish (energy efficient) of the house it’s not a bad price at all. Design will divide people for sure but when a shoebox semi d is averaging €500k these days I don’t think this is too far off price wise.
Not entirely sure If this is being sold as a house, but look at photo 10! Spooky.
