Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

As I said. I understand the outcry.
I understand RT is ruined.
But the problem I have is not with tubs.
It's with RTE.
Tubs told the world he was stepping down from the Late Late 12 hours before Grant Thornton sent emails stating their was an issue with accounts. Wow. It's a mad coincidence.
Procurement rules would be unilateral.
He's not an employee, so he can't be dismissed. If they show him the door, they would be terminating the contract for services, not an employment contract. So if he did sue, which just seems fairly unlikely, it would be for breach of contract, not for dismissal. And seeing as he walked away from the LLS, it would hard to see how RTE would be in breach, but everything depends on the detail of the contract.
I am in my sixties and Funny Friday makes me squirm with embarrassment. it is like something my pre-teen grandkids would put together, only the grandkids would actually be funny.
I always thought this was a bad tactic by management, putting the presenter's name in the show title. Apart from the nonsense over the holiday periods of having 'Ryan Tubridy Show' presented by Oliver Callan or Brendan Courtney, it also gives the presenter full ownership and additional negotiating strength. Smarter management would keep the presenter names out of the show titles.
@ButtersSuki
who are you?
you seem to be very well connected.
are you :
There were the church scandals and the smear test scandals, yes they were big scandals but liveline and RTE generally indulged in it big time, Joe Duffy kept that smear test thing going for weeks and weeks. As for the church scandals, that has been their play thing for the guts of 30 years now. They were like a dog digging up an old bone to have a chew and gnaw at it again and again. Any new angle or titbit was regurgitated and chewed up again.
Now the skeletons are in RTE own cupboard, they are handling it very badly because they never imagined that the spotlight would be on them.
Oliver Callan said today he'll be back next week.
And there was the Mica and defective blocks issue, which didn't even get a mention on the show, despite 20000 people coming down for a march in Dublin, and it was the main issue on all other news outlets.
Joe Duffys Liveline is discussing how to wear claddagh rings
no mention of yesterday’s sh1tshow
One thing that has me confused, the CFO said yesterday he believed the Barter Accounts were in place since around 2014. So who was the person who set up that arrangement and why was it never questioned by anyone since?
She is NT staff and uses NKM for any external stuff such as presenting gigs.
Why should it matter who he is? I know for a fact that they are not 1, 3 or 4 and if they are an advertiser this might be because they book advertising on various media organisations.
If a whistleblower comes forward with very credible information I don't give a fook who they are. Why are you trying to distract us away from how credible they have been over the past few years?
Can you tell us who you are and what is your interest in this story? As it looks like you might have vested interests.
The Gareth o Callahan article is interesting, tubs was essentially living a lie and deceiving his listeners
i’ve made no secret of the fact I’ve received tickets (concerts/sporting events) in my time from RTE. A week long trip to Japan for the RWC is one hell of a junket though.
Ah here we go again. Sigh.
You think I’m a wind up merchant? Really? When pretty much all the things I’ve been saying about RTÉ, Ryan Tubridy, and Noel Kelly et al. have been shown to be true? Ok.
i’m not going to out myself publicly for you. I have detailed many times what field I work in, where I’m from, who I know, and why I have access to the information I have.
I’m not repeating it.
well this poster @ButtersSuki claims he has Ms O Learies telephone number in his phone.
has he a business relationship with the broadcaster?
Someone should have taken a false advertising case against them for Funny Friday.
Unrelated but regarding funny Friday in recent history I heard June rogers tell a joke regarding the eyes of Asian people and how joe and gang laughed 😂😂
It's a guess.
I’ve declared many times that yes I have in my professional life bought advertising and arranged sponsorship on both tv and radio with RTE.
Extra: as well as other tv and radio stations in the country, my dealings were not solely with RTÉ.
Brilliant
Many people have been saying that for many years.
The whole Capt Kindness thing was an act. It was very obvious.
Have you ever attended an event as a guest that was ultimately paid by the license fee.
i would like a binary answer
makes perfect sense - and again random online forum so not putting words in your mouth - but there is a possibility these people were brought due to connection vs any actual benifit or business dealings .
did their families also Attend? Would be easy enough to bring wives/husbands by keeping names off hotel rooms and making the sort their own flight.
I can’t see any benifit here for RTE at all business wise.
Procurement law would be unilateral. Local policies and rules may vary a bit in different sectors and organisations.
Having said that, there is ABSOLUTLY a procurement issue in approving invoices for €150k where no procurement exercise has taken place.
Racist jokes are par for the course on FunnyFryday. One regular poster in the thread complains to RTE about this. The reply - which they posted in the thread - was basically, “FunnyFryday is old stable comedy, no offence is intended and it’s all just bit of craic really”.
Some reply!
I notice you never answered my question.
@ButtersSuki is ex RTE which he has stated on numerous occasions and that is why new has certain phone numbers in his phone.
