The list of people above are they been paid all that much? you do need some household names and they probably do have the ability to attract money via commercials etc. The problem is the main stars are massively overpaid but the organisation from top to bottom seems to be massively overpaid.
It's also the waste around the entire company. Everything takes 5 attempts to get correct because they employ the mate of a mate philosophy. Have for years. Stories of the entire 2FM staff booking into an expensive hotel beside RTE because maybe a storm might happen, the storm didn't but they spent the night on free food and beer waiting for it. That alone probably cost 20k or more?
It's just a pig from top to bottom. Hiring Grant Thornton or Deloitte to cover up for them is not working either.
I have no doubt NKM are complete chancers but I also think RT was pushing them for payrises and other benefits. That's what you do with your agent. I am positive he told them he didn't want a paycut and that he was more important than ever during Covid and that they needed to tell RTE that he would be headhunted etc etc.
I'd imagine NKM, RTE, RT and all the other goons are hoping the Horse Racing Ireland story is even bigger than this.
Can Forbes be compelled so? I'm not so sure that someone working in the private sector can be compelled to attend the Committee or PAC. I suspect legally that would not be the case.
As far as I know, they have to be "invited" first, and if they decline the invite, they can be compelled to attend.

Possibly when exchanging goods and services. For money it would just make no sense to use one. We really need an answer as to why this practice was in use. It is potentially fraudulent if the intent was to transfer money out of the organisation without proper sign off or approval.
The RTE staff at the protest were all NUJ members. There is lots of staff in RTE that are not NUJ members such as canteen workers, researchers and I.T. Staff.
In this instance, I’d agree. But generally speaking direct bartering between businesses is surely veering into tax avoidance territory.

as regards this affair and investigation, yes, they’re making quite a meal ouha it all. Lotta grandstanding and box ticking and posturing. No idea what people think will come of it all.

It's live TV now. It's taxpayers now. Nothing is making this go away. If you don't show up you might get away it but you've admitted your guilt to the public.
according to this article 119 staff earned between 100,000 and 250,000 in 2022, this excludes the top 10 earners and those on above 250k. The total wage bill was 123 million euros in 2022. From those figures the average wage bill was around 68,000 euros per year for all 1800 staff. On that basis RTE staff are paid as much as the ESB who are the highest paid semi state employees but are way more important than RTE. RTE are not fixing power lines in driving wind and rain in the middle of January
He has no contract. He has a verbal agreement that a new contract will be negotiated. That's about it. New evidence has come to light that shows him/his agent acted in very bad faith and clearly against the best interests of RTE in collusion with the former DG. That imo is more than enough for instant dismissal, contract or not. There is also a question mark over fraudulent practices related to the tripartate agreement in how it was concealed from the board.
There is no way the board would have signed off on these payments to Tubridy if they knew all the facts.
