Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

I'd say she was afraid to utter any criticism. We saw what happened to Forbes, do you think they would have entertained an underling like O'Kelly. I find her quite principled and honest.
How many Irish Catholic priests went around publicly reporting the culture of clerical abuse and cover-up in the Roman church?
Brilliant. She doesn't know if her top talent has a contract or not and how he's been paid.
Its worrying, that is the caliber of CFO at a major state company.
He's either part of the scandal or just an idiot either way he shouldn't be in a job still.
The issue is nobody gets sacked. Nobody got sacked for the incompetence of the ransomware attack. Nobody will get sacked in RTE
Why would you fix anything when it is easier to sit back and do nothing.
Rte should stop paying him right now. Not a cent more.
And also terminate any contract for the radio show, if there even is one. We aren't sure if one even exists or not. Don't think rte even know if there's one.
Let him go down the legal route if he wants to. I think the public have a new opinion of Tubs now that he will only make a lot worse if he tries to take legal action, so let him at it. Ruin his image completely.
We obviously watched two different things.
What I saw from the board was sheepish bumbling idiots. Bar stand in DG who has been fairly solid throughout.
Some very strong performances from some of the TD's over the last two days.
This could work out well and the likes of herself and Duffy for example might not be prepared to accept 150k per year for example. I think there will be a huge exodus / retirement of older "talent" in the coming months.
Hare to sack anybody in the civil service. Though the unions might be agreeable in some cases.
She’s beginning to milk it now. I wouldn’t trust any of them.
He clearly isn't an idiot. He is lying but isn't very good at it. I would expect he has been told to cover up everything and doesn't know how to.
I expect when he joined RTE he would have a handy number and not sitting lying and covering up dodgy deals RTE put in place
center parks pulling there sponsorship. I wonder will more follow
To be fair Center Parcs say it was only ever going to be a 1yr deal. So perhaps the controversy isn't changing their mind.
But they are thinking of ending it early, which would be due to the bad publicity around Tubs. Suspect they might not be able to, legally?
Why is the journal blaming tubs?
Center Parcs UK told The Journal that the sponsorship deal was “only ever a one-year deal” and that there were “no plans to renew”.
Sounds like it was only ever going to be 1 year
If they were going to pull it would make more sense to pull it over the rugby trip rather than a commercial agreement with Renault.
Why ever not?
That's a great spot. U2 were last in Croke Park in 2017 on the Joshua Tree Tour.
Duffy has only a couple years left there. He needs to be moved off the books and out of RTE. He simply does not do enough to justify that salary. Liveline will survive him (if that's a good thing).
Paying the likes of Duffy massive amounts sums up everything that's wrong with RTE.
Apologies for any offence, I was (trying to) taking about the elected politicians. I've had plenty of dealing with various officials in some of the Departments and almost universally have been impressed by the calibre, common sense and reasonableness of them.
Why did the Commercial Director, Geraldine O'Leary, keep saying that she "raised the invoices"?
I would have expected her to create Purchase Orders and then the barter company, Altus UK, sent in their invoices for those POs?
Can any accountants help to explain? (Was the invoice raised to RTE from some barter/commercial entity she had control of, so she could top up the barter account for example? If so what's that other entity?)
Exactly. I've said earlier that someone in RTE would have to raise a PO against which the invoice would be set, when it was received. I'm not an accountant and am pleased to be corrected if wrong
Good spot. She may have meant Purchase Orders.
But if she actually raised invoices in the name of NKM, this adds an extra layer and further question marks.
Evidence of the invoices will have to be found.
Invoicing for services not provided is one thing and one thing only. Fraud. It doesn't matter what else there was a contract for.
Not enough.
My understanding is NKM invoices the barter exchange.
Totally agree. Another talentless creature being paid crazy money. Darcy is another that must not be able to believe the salary he is on.
I think Liveline as it originally was, way back when Marian Finucane (RIP) was the host, was a good idea for a programme. I can't stand Duffy so haven't listened in donkeys years, but I gather that he made it all about himself. Seems to be a pattern with all the 'talent' in RTE. 🙄
Surprised it took so long for darcy to be mentioned.
Complete and utter waste of space.
And RTE raises a PO for the same amount (plus 81k separately) to the barter exchange? It all adds another layer of concealment and virtually everyone including on the RTE board now accept its concealment.
Yeah Porridge is another one who sticks out. Again I can't see why they can't get someone in for that gig from 100 - 150k. If they don't actively look for new presenters they won't find them.
Do we know what Loshie is getting paid yet?
This is interesting.

Claire Byrne is local radio calibre.
Just doing a bit of digging and found that Colm Hayes when employed by RTE was on approx 210k per annum......
Colm effing hayes.
RTE needs to be absolutely defunded and disbanded at this stage. If they want to pay "market" salaries let them sink or swim in truly in the market. They won't be long about trimming the fat.
