Not sure what you watched. The board stumbled and bumbled their way from one question to another. The embarrassment was only on one side.
A school friend of mine had a parent in RTE. I have been to the Panto and the Funderland Free Day several times, and a Concert on the back of the RTE free tickets. This was 40 years ago.
So you’re going to take the word of a person who works in there - when pretty much every representative of the company who has testified so far has been shown to be evasive (and I’n being kind there) in their answers - over the word of someone who’s been talking about junkets. freebies, waste, greed, cronyism, nepotism, Noel Kelly and his relationship with RTÉ and much much more RTÉ-related on this site for 14 years?

Did it occur to you that maybe just because this person and his department weren’t on the freebie train doesn’t mean that large swathes of people weren’t? Its clear feom today’s hearing many people in there - and their families - benefit from such freebies, indeed freebies of far far greater monetary value than a €50-60 ticket for The Snowman.

What an embarrassing event today - once again we had a chance to look at our elected representatives asking stupid questions.
Compare with the grace and eloquence of the board members - all of whom remained very calm under pressure
time and time again we heard that RT did nothing illegal whatsoever.
Verona’s contribution was embarrassing. Shouting at and over the people she was questioning, asking ridiculous questions based on hypotheticals and things that haven’t happened instead of concentrating on the facts.
Tubridy is off air at the moment as he is part of the story and therefore can’t be impartial. The opening of his radio show is a review of the papers - how can he do that when he’s on the front page of all of them???
Those who remained calm and controlled in their questioning were imminently more impressive.

Its interesting , boards.ie has come in for abit of a battering recently....but for certain things i think boards has been superb and well ahead of the curve.........
The Tubridy radio threads and the LLS threads over the years have been full of excellent contributors listing all the various problems of RTE and Tubridy that are surfacing now :
- Tubridys sense of entitlement (the sheer scale of his fees were a source of disdain for alot of us for a long long time- nevermind the hidden payments part!!) Plus the endless supply of freebies and requests for more....credit to PieOhMy....
- Noel Kelly (NKM)....I learnt about him years ago from the good people of boards.....has a gangsterish grip on the media in this country....this has been detailed endlessly on these threads for years....
- RTE waste.....again has been discussed at length over various threads like the Dee Forbes thread...licence fee threads etc.....
In conclusion, posters such as Pelvis Parsley, General Zhukov and Buttersuki (too many more to mention) are to be commended for their contributions about Tubridy over the years....these posters have been fully vindicated...
The Tubridy/NKM acolytes have fallen silent......their hero has been exposed for the great fraud that he is........

Sure what's the point of any politician committee questioning Kelly, when all the gadge can do is basically repeat what these clowns from RTE did all day today? Which was a non stop shlither of

Not really wanting to defend RTE, but there are other feasible explanations for this, such as an outing organised by the RTE Social Club. There may have been some level of staff subsidy for this, or maybe not. I wouldn't assume that 'everyone got free tickets'.
Must have been a busy afternoon, nearly 25 pages and over 700 posts since I logged on last!
😂 Noel Kelly has to be questioned fcuk client confidentiality, it's bigger than that.
He's fine regardless, just negotiating for clients. But the interaction would be priceless. 'RT: Noel I'm not happy with that fee, do they not realise who I am and how talented'!
