Not a good look. I wonder did he go because this was going to come to light?

RT as we speak..
Verona’s contribution was embarrassing. Shouting at and over the people she was questioning, asking ridiculous questions based on hypotheticals and things that haven’t happened instead of concentrating on the facts.
Tubridy is off air at the moment as he is part of the story and therefore can’t be impartial. The opening of his radio show is a review of the papers - how can he do that when he’s on the front page of all of them???
Those who remained calm and controlled in their questioning were imminently more impressive.
What an embarrassing event today - once again we had a chance to look at our elected representatives asking stupid questions.
Compare with the grace and eloquence of the board members - all of whom remained very calm under pressure
time and time again we heard that RT did nothing illegal whatsoever.
Nah..Still too obvious.
Hahahahahahah spat out my noodles.
There could be another explanation re: ordinary staff. Could be a staff social club. We dont know if they got freebies at this point.
Entirely possible the flow of free goodies are for head honchos and 'talent'.
Even Tubridy's final play out song 'All We Need is Love'. Be kind, virtue signalling twat to the end.
I don’t think anyone understands the ins and outs of these so called barter accounts. How they relate to the taxation system of various states. What is legal, what’s dodgy and what’s downright illegal. Who knew of them in corporate finance up to last week??
I note that both RTÉ and the Independent who have offered explanations might have a vested interest in justifying them and are not unbiased.
Yikes.
Alan Kelly was very impressive today, he really surprised me.
Well when you take your story and the worker representative claiming at the PAC that staff are lucky to get an RTÉ Guide then something is not adding up.
Good move, the only move, Center Parcs.
That's that for Tubs. No one will want to be attached to his name. Career over as a presenter.
And sure isn't that the perfect response if you have done something possibly illegal. I'd say most are happy enough with their days work tbh.
Day 3 the RTE Board face cross examination by the independent TDs. Led by Danny Healy Rae, who'll rhoast them out of it.
For real?
After a day in which the CFO said he didnt know his salary it is hard to tell what is real and what is Waterford Whispers type satire!
I have actually agreed with nearly everything you have said right throughout this thread , but your delivery as a poster has been the most annoying I've ever come across.
Indeed 😁
Deputy Kelly also made a very important point towards the CFO when he asked Collins if he actually believed what he actually stated, that "fraud" had in fact been committed against us, the taxpayer, so why he didn't inform the legal authorities, if that is what he believes to be the case.
Why didn't he? Why doesn't he?
I mean Siún Ní Raghallaigh has stated that they no longer care about the "talent" accounts or their agents so what's stopping them from getting the actual real law authorities of the land to get involved to investigate this fraudulent activity?
Because if it was you or me, it would have been investigated and prosecuted the minute it was copped.
Well, well, well. It does indeed appear that the messiah (to some) is indeed turning into quite the pariah.
Good.
They should not be asking for them to come back with information, they should be asking for resignations
So you’re going to take the word of a person who works in there - when pretty much every representative of the company who has testified so far has been shown to be evasive (and I’n being kind there) in their answers - over the word of someone who’s been talking about junkets. freebies, waste, greed, cronyism, nepotism, Noel Kelly and his relationship with RTÉ and much much more RTÉ-related on this site for 14 years?
Ok. 🤷♂️
Did it occur to you that maybe just because this person and his department weren’t on the freebie train doesn’t mean that large swathes of people weren’t? Its clear feom today’s hearing many people in there - and their families - benefit from such freebies, indeed freebies of far far greater monetary value than a €50-60 ticket for The Snowman.
But once again I’m seemingly the one telling potties…..intriguing.
A school friend of mine had a parent in RTE. I have been to the Panto and the Funderland Free Day several times, and a Concert on the back of the RTE free tickets. This was 40 years ago.
Not sure what you watched. The board stumbled and bumbled their way from one question to another. The embarrassment was only on one side.
Ah I think someone might be auditioning for waterford whispers but needs to try harder.
"papering the house" can be common when a gig has not sold well.
When the NSO was part of RTE, I believe it was common for tickets to be offered to staff/retired staff of RTE lateish in the day.
I don't know about The Snowman. It doesn't sound like the sort of thing that would not sell well.
Not like a concert of Mahler and Shostakovich symphonies, which would be a harder sell.
These were RTE , not NCH, events. Frequently, in the foyer there'd be a separate table set up to distribute the complimentary tickets, so as not to put too much pressure on the Box Office.
Ultimately, the licence fee payers covered the cost of this night of culture for these connected people.
Can someone answer me this, who's idea was it to give the extra hidden payments? Was it requested by someone?
More coverage on Prime Time now.
Not sure. Here's a picture of a man relaxing though.
Haha prime time and then next is a show called face the music hahah
Whenever you see in the media a source close to RT claims, just remember that source is NK.
Anyone who publishes this is only dealing in propaganda and not facts.
